In its favor

Why people choose Actimo

The signal that keeps Actimo on the shortlist. Sourced from G2, Capterra, and customer scoping calls.

Reaches non-desk workers directly via mobile app where email and intranets fail

Combines internal communications, onboarding training, and pulse surveys in one platform

Gamification and quiz tools drive participation without requiring workers to sit at a computer

Dashboard analytics give managers real-time visibility into engagement across locations

Automated integration with HR systems (Sympa and similar) keeps employee data current without manual syncs

Limited API documentation makes automated migration and deep integration technically challenging

Pricing is per-active-user and not publicly published, creating uncertainty during vendor evaluation

Small review sample (12 Capterra reviews, 1 G2 review) makes independent validation difficult

Platform is narrowly focused on engagement and lacks CRM-style pipeline, deal, or account management objects

Competitors like Connecteam offer broader workforce management features at comparable or lower price points

Platform scorecard

Strengths, weaknesses, and where Actimo fits

Grades across six dimensions, plus a SWOT-style view of where the platform shines and where it falls short.

SWOT — strengths, weaknesses, and use-case fit

Strengths

Purpose-built for deskless workers without relying on desktop login or emailGamified onboarding and microlearning reduce time-to-productivity for front-line staffAutomated HR system sync keeps employee rosters current without manual maintenanceReal-time engagement dashboards surface participation gaps by location or teamMulti-language support enables deployment across multinational workforces

Weaknesses

No publicly documented API or bulk data export endpoints, limiting programmatic migration optionsPricing is opaque and requires direct sales engagement, making cost-of-migration estimates difficultMinimal independent review presence (12 Capterra, 1 G2) limits peer validation during vendor evaluationPlatform lacks account management, deal tracking, or pipeline objects—narrowly scoped to engagementCompetitors offer broader workforce management features while Actimo remains focused on comms and learning

Where it works

Multi-location retail and hospitality chains where floor staff lack desktop login but need mobile access to updates and trainingHealthcare organizations needing to reach distributed clinical and support staff across shifts without relying on email or intranetLarge multinationals operating in 80+ countries that require multi-language internal communications and localized engagement trackingOrganizations already using Sympa HR systems that benefit from automated employee roster synchronization to ActimoIndustries with high-turnover front-line workforces (retail, logistics, food production) requiring fast mobile onboarding and compliance training

Where it struggles

Organizations requiring account management, sales pipeline tracking, deal stages, or CRM-style revenue management objectsEnterprises needing a documented API or bulk export endpoints for automated migration and custom integration workflowsCompanies with transparent pricing requirements who want to evaluate costs independently before engaging a sales teamTeams requiring field service management features such as work order dispatch, asset tracking, or technician scheduling toolsOrganizations performing detailed vendor due diligence, given the small review sample (12 Capterra, 1 G2) limits peer validation

Actimo pricing overview

Actimo uses a per-active-user pricing model where organizations pay only for employees who require platform access, regardless of total company headcount. Pricing is not published publicly and requires a sales conversation. The acquisition by Kahoot! may introduce tier bundling or co-selling opportunities.

What gets migrated

Actimo object support

Object-by-object support for Actimo migrations. Per-pair details surface during scoping.

Contacts

Fully supported

Contacts represent active employees in the platform. Actimo supports full export of Contact records to Excel including profile fields, group memberships, and engagement status. We map these directly to Contact objects in the destination CRM, preserving the employee's assigned Workspace as a custom property.

Messages

Mapping required

Messages are the core communication unit in Actimo. Export is available per-message with open/click/bounce analytics. We map Message content to standard Activities or Engagements and preserve the engagement metrics as custom fields, but the mapping requires deciding whether each message lands as an email activity, a post, or a notification on the destination side.

Learning Paths

Mapping required

Learning Paths are sequential collections of training content—videos, quizzes, documents—assigned to employees. Actimo tracks completion and scores. We can export the path structure and per-employee completion records, but the actual media assets (videos, PDFs) must be handled as binary file transfers separately from the record migration.

Surveys

Mapping required

Surveys encompass pulse polls, check-ins, and feedback instruments. Actimo stores the survey structure and individual response records. We map survey definitions and response data to the destination's survey or feedback object, but any custom scoring logic or weighting configured in Actimo must be reconstructed manually post-migration.

Workspaces

Mapping required

Workspaces are Actimo's top-level organizational containers, typically mapped to physical locations, business units, or brands. Each Workspace has its own Dashboard and analytics. We preserve Workspace assignments on Contact records and replicate Dashboard configuration as a structured reference, but the dashboard visualizations themselves do not export as data rows.

Groups

Fully supported

Groups organize employees for targeted messaging or role-based content assignment. Export includes group membership records linking Contacts to named Groups. These map cleanly to List or Segment objects in standard CRMs.

Integrations

Mapping required

Actimo integrates with HR systems (Sympa, and others) to sync employee data automatically. During migration, we capture the current state of synchronized data rather than relying on the integration to remain active post-migration. The integration configuration itself is not exportable and must be re-established on the new platform.

Analytics / Dashboard Data

Mapping required

Dashboard metrics reflect engagement levels, open rates, and employee activity within a Workspace. Actimo provides export capabilities for message analytics. We extract the analytics datasets and map them to reporting objects or custom tables in the destination, but trend data and historical dashboard snapshots require aggregation from individual event records.
