Overview

What this migration involves

Moving from ManEx ERP to Infor CloudSuite Industrial is an on-premise-to-cloud migration that begins with direct database extraction since ManEx provides no documented API. We map Customer, Vendor, PO, SO, BOM, Shop Floor, and Inventory records into Infor CloudSuite Industrial's schema using the platform's built-in Migration Utility, which requires strict sequencing because parent entities must exist before child records load. Multi-level BOMs with phantom assemblies require decomposition during staging, and the quoting module's known limitations in ManEx mean we flag quote data with a quality disclaimer rather than silently propagating incomplete pricing into the target. Workflows, alerts, and custom Stimulsoft reports do not migrate; we deliver a written inventory of these for the customer's Infor administrator to rebuild in Infor OS.

Field-level fidelity

Why teams make this switch

Two sides of the same decision

Leaving

ManEx logo

ManEx

What's pushing teams away

  • The quoting module breaks down in complex manufacturing environments, forcing teams to build manual workarounds for multi-level BOM pricing.
  • ManEx is described as a work in progress with features implemented halfway, leading to operational gaps that require custom development to fill.
  • Customers are reluctant to migrate to the newer Cube replacement product after three-plus years of stalled beta releases.
  • Stimulsoft-based web reporting has known rendering issues that frustrate users who rely on production and inventory reports.
  • Regular manual backups before upgrades are required, as the platform does not guarantee rollback integrity during patch cycles.

Choosing

Infor CloudSuite Corporate logo

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

What's pulling them in

  • Infor CloudSuite is industry-specific out of the box — manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, and food & beverage editions ship with preconfigured workflows that reduce the need for extensive customization and accelerate time to value for operations-heavy organizations.
  • The platform's deep integration with Excel for financial reporting is frequently cited as a key productivity feature, allowing finance teams to pull data directly and make changes without leaving familiar tooling.
  • AWS-hosted multi-tenant deployment eliminates data center management for IT teams, and Infor OS provides a unified integration layer (ION) that connects the CloudSuite to third-party applications without point-to-point middleware.
  • Organizations with multi-site or multi-country operations choose Infor for its multicurrency, multilanguage, and local regulatory compliance capabilities across 175+ countries, which simplifies consolidation for global CFOs.
  • The two-tier ERP strategy positioning lets corporate headquarters run CloudSuite while subsidiaries run lighter instances, which appeals to complex organizational structures that want standardization without full replacement.

Object mapping

How ManEx objects map to Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Each row shows how a ManEx object lands in Infor CloudSuite Corporate, including any object-level transformations, lookup resolution, or schema-design dependencies.

Typical mapping — final map is confirmed during the sample migration step.

ManEx

Customer

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Customer

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx Customer records (contact details, account assignments, address data, payment terms) map to Infor CloudSuite Industrial Customer Master. We extract via direct SQL query on the ManEx database or flat-file export, clean address fields to match Infor's address structure, and resolve the Customer's currency and tax jurisdiction codes to Infor equivalents. Customer is loaded before any Sales Order or AR data because of foreign-key dependencies in the Infor Migration Utility sequence.

ManEx

Vendor

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Supplier

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx Vendor master data with PO history and RMA associations maps to Infor CloudSuite Industrial Supplier. The vendor-supplier relationship is preserved as a distinct entity to avoid merging suppliers with customers, which are separate objects in Infor. We map ManEx vendor codes to Infor Supplier numbers and preserve any vendor-specific payment terms or RMA contact information as Supplier notes.

ManEx

Chart of Accounts

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

GL Account

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx GL accounts (asset, liability, equity, revenue, expense types) map to Infor CloudSuite Industrial GL Account Master. We map each account code and type to the destination chart of accounts, flagging any inactive or suspended ManEx accounts for the customer's Infor administrator to activate post-migration. Account code length and hierarchy must be validated against Infor's account structure before import.

ManEx

Purchase Order

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Purchase Order

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx PO records (line items tied to BOMs, vendor assignments, receiving status) map to Infor CloudSuite Industrial Purchase Order. We preserve the full PO lifecycle including partially received orders, mapping ManEx receiving status flags to Infor PO receipt status. PO header must be loaded before PO lines due to header-level foreign keys in the Infor Migration Utility.

ManEx

Sales Order

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Sales Order

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx Sales Order records (pricing, customer linkage, fulfillment status, multi-price-list assignments) map to Infor CloudSuite Industrial Sales Order. Multi-price-list pricing requires value-mapping because ManEx price list IDs are not portable across ERP systems; we resolve the active price list at migration time and map it to Infor's price book structure. SO header is loaded before line items and before any related Invoice records.

ManEx

Bill of Materials

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

BOM / Formula

1:many
Fully supported

ManEx multi-level BOM structures map to Infor CloudSuite Industrial BOM with routing data. Complex multi-level BOMs with phantom assemblies require decomposition during staging: we flatten single-level BOMs for import and document the original hierarchy so the customer's Infor administrator can rebuild parent-level BOMs post-migration if routing continuity is required. Component quantities, scrap factors, and work center assignments are mapped to Infor's BOM lines and routing operations.

ManEx

Shop Floor Transaction

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Work Order Transaction

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx real-time shop floor data (labor time, machine cycles, material consumption per work order) maps to Infor CloudSuite Industrial Work Order transactions. Timestamps are preserved to maintain production history continuity, and material consumption records are linked to the corresponding Infor inventory transactions. Shop floor transactions reference Work Order numbers that must exist in Infor before the transaction import phase begins.

ManEx

Inventory Record

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Inventory Item

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx inventory quantities, locations, lot/serial data, and on-hand quantities map to Infor CloudSuite Industrial Inventory. We handle multiple warehouse locations, lot traceability, and serial number records, mapping ManEx warehouse codes to Infor site and subinventory codes. On-hand quantities are loaded after the Item Master is populated to satisfy foreign-key requirements.

ManEx

AP/AR Ledger Entry

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

AP/AR Transaction

1:1
Fully supported

Open payables and receivables map to Infor CloudSuite Industrial AP and AR transactions with current status, aging buckets, and payment terms. Historical ledger transactions require special handling because ManEx may store them in archived or compressed tables; we extract as many periods as the customer elects to migrate and flag any gaps. Open items are loaded before closed items to maintain aging accuracy.

ManEx

RMA Record

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Return Material Authorization

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx RMA records tied to original SOs or POs map to Infor CloudSuite Industrial RMA. RMA status codes (open, in-progress, closed) require explicit value-mapping because the state machine differs between ManEx and Infor. We preserve the link to the originating PO or SO as a reference field so the customer's returns team can trace the original transaction in Infor.

ManEx

Time and Attendance Record

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Time Transaction

1:1
Fully supported

ManEx Time and Attendance entries from the optional module tie to employees and work orders. If the destination Infor CloudSuite environment includes Infor HCM or a separate timekeeping module, we map time entries to the corresponding employee records and flag any labor classification codes requiring Infor work class setup. If no Infor time module is present, we export time data as a flat file for the customer's HR administrator to reconcile.

ManEx

Quote Record

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Quote

lossy
Fully supported

ManEx Quote records with known BOM pricing limitations are migrated with a quality flag. The ManEx quoting module's failure on complex multi-level BOM pricing means a subset of quote records may contain incorrect or incomplete pricing. We migrate quotes as-is with a flag noting its known limitation and recommend the customer's Infor administrator review high-value quotes before using them as templates or converting them to Sales Orders.

Pair-specific challenges

  • ManEx has no public API requiring direct database extraction

All migration extraction from ManEx requires direct database access to the underlying SQL store or reliance on flat-file exports through the application UI. We negotiate explicit read-only database access during discovery and validate export completeness against application-level reports. If the customer cannot or will not grant direct DB access, migration scope is limited to whatever the UI export function produces, which may exclude transactional history, custom fields, or archived records. Infor CloudSuite receives data through its Migration Utility, which expects SQL-to-SQL or file-based imports with predefined stored procedure mappings.

  • BOM decomposition required before multi-level BOM import

ManEx multi-level BOMs with phantom assemblies cannot be imported directly into Infor CloudSuite Industrial's BOM structure without staging decomposition. We flatten complex BOM hierarchies during the migration staging phase and load single-level BOMs with component relationships documented separately. The customer's Infor administrator rebuilds the parent-level BOMs with routing operations post-migration if production continuity depends on the hierarchy. Skipping this step results in incomplete BOM structures in Infor that break production scheduling and work order processing.

  • Infor Migration Utility requires strict data dependency sequencing

Infor CloudSuite Industrial's Migration Utility enforces a rigid import sequence because parent records must exist before child records load. GL Accounts must precede Customers and Suppliers; Customers must precede Sales Orders; Items must precede Inventory; Work Orders must precede Shop Floor Transactions. We build the exact import sequence during scoping and test it via Infor's Preliminary Data Transfer feature before committing any data. Deviations from the sequence cause foreign-key failures that require re-running entire import batches.

  • ManEx quote data carries known BOM pricing inaccuracies

The ManEx quoting module does not reliably compute pricing for products with complex multi-level BOMs, meaning quote records for a subset of products may contain incomplete or incorrect pricing. During migration scoping we identify which products use complex BOM structures and decide whether to migrate quote data as-is with a quality flag, or exclude quote records from migration entirely to avoid propagating bad pricing into Infor. The customer's Infor administrator reviews flagged quotes post-migration before using them as Sales Order templates.

  • Custom Stimulsoft reports do not migrate and require Infor rebuild

ManEx custom reports built in Stimulsoft are not portable to Infor CloudSuite Industrial. Infor uses role-based dashboards, Birst BI, and Infor OS reporting capabilities that have a different report architecture. We do not migrate reports as code. We deliver a written inventory of every active ManEx report with its data source tables and parameters so the customer's Infor administrator can rebuild equivalent reports in Infor OS or engage an Infor reporting partner. This inventory is delivered as part of the migration scope but the rebuild is an admin task or separate engagement.

Migration approach

Six steps for a successful ManEx to Infor CloudSuite Corporate data migration

  1. Discovery and database access negotiation

We audit the source ManEx instance to identify which optional modules (Project Management, Repair, Time and Attendance) are active, the schema of the underlying SQL database, and the scope of transactional history to migrate. We negotiate explicit read-only database access credentials with the customer and validate connectivity from our migration environment. We produce a written migration scope document listing every object, record count estimate, BOM complexity assessment, and a preliminary import sequence based on Infor CloudSuite Industrial's dependency rules.

  2. Staging database setup and BOM decomposition

We set up a staging database that mirrors Infor's migration database structure. We extract ManEx data via direct SQL queries into staging tables with schema names aligned to Infor's table naming convention. Multi-level BOMs with phantom assemblies are decomposed into single-level component records during this phase, with the original hierarchy preserved as a separate reference table for the customer's Infor administrator. We run data quality checks against the staging data and flag any incomplete or inconsistent records before building the import mapping.

  3. Infor Migration Utility sequence configuration

We configure Infor CloudSuite Industrial's Migration Utility with source-to-target table mappings for every object in scope. We use Infor's predefined stored procedures where they match ManEx table structures and create custom stored procedures for any non-standard mappings. We define import rules for data type conversions (date formats, decimal precision, flag values) and set the import sequence in the Import Steps form, testing each sequence via Preliminary Data Transfer before committing. Any mapping corrections are logged and the sequence is re-validated.

  4. Sandbox migration and reconciliation

We run a full migration into a staging Infor CloudSuite environment (or the customer's Sandbox if available) using production-like data volume. The customer's operations team reconciles record counts across every object, spot-checks 25-50 records against the ManEx source, and validates that BOM structures, open PO and SO statuses, and inventory quantities match expectations. We correct any mapping errors identified during reconciliation before scheduling the production migration window.

  5. Production migration in dependency order

We execute the production migration in the validated sequence: GL Accounts first, then Customers and Suppliers, then Items and Inventory, then BOMs with decomposition notes, then Purchase Orders and Sales Orders, then Work Orders and Shop Floor Transactions, then AP/AR ledgers, then RMA records, then Time and Attendance if applicable. Each phase emits a row-count reconciliation report before the next phase begins. Delta migrations capture any records created or modified during the production migration window.

  6. Cutover, validation, and report inventory handoff

We freeze ManEx writes during cutover, run a final delta migration, and enable Infor CloudSuite as the system of record. We deliver the Report Inventory document listing every active ManEx Stimulsoft report with its data source tables and recommended Infor OS rebuild approach. We support a one-week hypercare window to resolve reconciliation issues raised by the customer's operations team. We do not rebuild ManEx workflows, alerts, or reports inside the migration scope; these are documented for the customer's Infor administrator to rebuild in Infor OS post-migration.

Most migrations land between six and ten weeks for accounts with under 50,000 Customers and Vendors, straightforward PO and SO histories, and simple BOM structures. Migrations with multi-level BOMs requiring decomposition, large Shop Floor transaction histories (over 500,000 records), open AP/AR ledgers with aging data, or multiple warehouse locations move to fourteen to twenty-two weeks because of BOM staging work, Infor Migration Utility sequencing iterations, and transaction chunking. The customer must also have their Infor CloudSuite environment provisioned and configured before migration data can be loaded.
