In its favor

Why people choose Agencyzoom

The signal that keeps Agencyzoom on the shortlist. Sourced from G2, Capterra, and customer scoping calls.

Targeted for insurance agencies across carrier types—independent agents, Allstate, Farmers, Nationwide, State Farm, and other captive agents—with pre-built workflows matching insurance sales and service cycles.

All-in-one consolidation of leads, client records, policies, service tickets, and automations in a single platform, reducing data entry across agency management systems and phone integrations.

Responsive customer support that addresses questions quickly, with built-in chat accessible directly within the platform, according to multiple G2 reviewers.

Highly customizable pipelines and lifecycle automations that allow agencies to tailor touchpoints, reminders, and communications to their specific sales and retention processes.

Google review automation that systematically generates and manages client reviews month over month, supporting organic agency growth.

Rising pricing is a consistent complaint—customers report ongoing price increases that erode satisfaction and drive consideration of lower-cost alternatives.

Automation complexity creates a steep learning curve; users struggle with excessive clicking through prewritten email and text sequences tied to automated workflows.

Email hygiene limitations frustrate users—bulk deletion of invalid email addresses and management of auto campaigns for bad addresses require significant manual effort.

Search functionality is unreliable; users report the search bar fails to locate clients regularly, with inconsistent results across the user base.

Sales Center and Service Center operate as disconnected modules—notes and files from a sold pipeline do not automatically transfer into the service pipeline within AgencyZoom.

Platform scorecard

Strengths, weaknesses, and where Agencyzoom fits

Grades across six dimensions, plus a SWOT-style view of where the platform shines and where it falls short.

SWOT — strengths, weaknesses, and use-case fit

Strengths

Specialized for insurance agencies with industry-specific pipelines, lifecycle stages, and carrier integrations.Pre-built integrations with HawkSoft AMS360 and other agency management systems reduce double data entry.Google review automation built in, supporting organic client acquisition and retention workflows.Mobile app available so producers can track goals and manage tasks on the go.Growth Plan at $99/month adds enhanced support and automation for scaling small-to-mid agencies.

Weaknesses

Learning curve is steep for new users—pipelines and automation require significant training investment.API rate limits of 30 calls per minute during business hours constrain migration throughput for large data sets.Rising pricing is a recurring complaint across G2 reviews, with no clear ceiling on annual increases.Lifecycle automations cannot be exported—only the content library is accessible; automation rules must be rebuilt manually elsewhere.Sales Center and Service Center do not automatically share notes or files between modules.

Where it works

Small insurance agencies with 1–10 producers seeking a single platform to consolidate leads, policies, service tickets, and automations without managing multiple disconnected tools.US-based independent agents and captive carriers (Allstate, Farmers, Nationwide, State Farm) who benefit from pre-built insurance pipelines and lifecycle stages aligned to carrier sales cycles.Insurance agencies already using HawkSoft AMS360 that want bi-directional sync to eliminate double data entry between their agency management system and CRM.Agencies focused on systematic Google review generation and referral-based growth through automated review request workflows month over month.Small teams where producers need mobile access to track goals, manage tasks, and stay on top of pipeline stages while working remotely.

Where it struggles

Mid-market agencies with 50+ users or complex org structures where tiered permissions, departmental routing, and granular reporting become critical requirements.Agencies requiring tight integration between Sales Center and Service Center—notes and files from a sold pipeline do not transfer automatically within AgencyZoom.Insurance agencies operating outside the US, particularly those with multi-country regulatory requirements or non-English-speaking client bases.Large-scale data migration or integration projects where API rate limits of 30 calls per minute during business hours create significant throughput constraints.Agencies with multiple office locations or franchise structures that require centralized reporting and permission management across independent entity hierarchies.

Pricing tiers

Agencyzoom pricing overview

AgencyZoom uses a per-user per-month model. The Growth Plan starts at $99/month and is the first tier with enhanced automation and reporting. Enterprise pricing is custom and supports multi-agency management. Free and Starter tiers exist for smaller agencies but have limited API access and automation depth.

What gets migrated

Agencyzoom object support

Object-by-object support for Agencyzoom migrations. Per-pair details surface during scoping.

Leads

Fully supported

Leads are the primary acquisition object in AgencyZoom's sales pipeline. The platform supports lead source categories, recycle events, and lifecycle stages. We map Leads to the destination CRM's equivalent object and preserve lead status, source, and activity dates at import time.

Contacts

Fully supported

Contacts are the core customer record. The API exposes batch-create endpoints (added Jan 2024) and supports search by last activity date. We export contacts as CSV or pull via API and map standard fields directly to the destination CRM.

Policies

Fully supported

Policies represent active or historical insurance coverage tied to a Contact. The API supports policy retrieval tied to leads and contacts. We preserve the policy-to-contact relationship during migration and map carrier and coverage details to the destination schema.

Pipelines (Sales, Service, Onboarding)

Mapping required

AgencyZoom has three pipeline types. Pipeline stages are configurable per agency. We capture stage names, ordering, and any custom stage statuses. Mapping to a destination CRM requires aligning stage labels to the target pipeline's stage schema since terminology varies.

Tasks

Fully supported

Tasks are created, updated, completed, and batch-deleted via the API. We migrate task records with assignee, due date, status, and body text. Completed and open task states are preserved.

Service Tickets

Fully supported

Service tickets represent service requests in the Service Center pipeline. The API supports create, update, complete, and list operations. We migrate open and closed tickets, preserving priority, category, resolution status, and linked contact or policy references.

Custom Fields

Mapping required

Custom fields are configurable per agency via MyAgency → Manage Custom Fields. The API exposes a custom fields list endpoint. We catalog all custom field names and types during scoping and map them to destination custom properties, noting any that may require manual recreation in the target CRM.

Lifecycle Automations

Not in this platform

Lifecycle automations in AgencyZoom consist of email templates, text templates, reminders, and task triggers tied to pipeline stages. The automation logic itself is not exposed via the public API. We can export the content library—email and text templates—but the automation rules must be manually rebuilt on the destination platform.

Quotes

Mapping required

Quotes are associated with Leads via the API endpoint POST v1/api/leads/{leadId}/quotes. We extract quote data where present. Mapping depends on whether the destination CRM has a native Quotes object or requires quotes to land as custom fields on the Deal or Policy record.

Carriers

Mapping required

Carriers are reference data listing the insurance carriers the agency works with. We export the carrier list during migration and map it to the destination CRM's Companies/Accounts object or carrier-specific field, depending on the destination schema.

Activity History

Fully supported

Notes, emails, texts, and tasks logged against a Contact or Lead are captured as activity history. We export activity records and map them to the destination CRM's activity/engagement timeline, preserving timestamps and owner attribution.

Users and Assignees

Mapping required

Users and group assignments control pipeline routing and task ownership. Permissions are tied to the logged-in user account via JWT. We map AgencyZoom users to the destination CRM's Owner/User object, noting that the calling integration account needs agency-owner-level access to see all records.
