Overview

What this migration involves

Moving from Intact iQ to Infor CloudSuite is a migration between two materially different ERP architectures. Intact iQ uses a custom API Definition model per data object with no standard public REST endpoint, while Infor CloudSuite ships a dedicated SQL-based Migration Utility that requires the source database to run on SQL Server 2008 or later and the target database to be pre-initialized with the Migration Utility pack. We resolve the extraction challenge by working with Intact iQ's API Definition layer or falling back to direct database extraction with appropriate access and throttling controls. Infor CloudSuite's migration sequence is strict: Unit of Measure Codes must load before Unit of Measure Conversion data, and Business Partner records must exist before any Order or Transaction referencing them. We sequence the migration accordingly, map Intact iQ's branch-and-warehouse model to Infor's Site structure, and handle open AP/AR balances as a separate reconciliation pass after master data is confirmed in the destination. Workflow automation rules and document attachments are not API-accessible in Intact iQ; we deliver written inventories of both for the customer's Infor administrator to rebuild and re-attach post-migration.

Why teams make this switch

Two sides of the same decision

Leaving

Intact iQ logo

Intact iQ

What's pushing teams away

  • Customer service response times frustrate users — enquiries can take weeks to resolve, creating bottlenecks during critical periods like month-end or system upgrades.
  • Performance degrades noticeably when the system handles large datasets such as 10,000+ customers with multiple properties and address records, forcing users to export to Excel to find information.
  • Post-implementation support is described as poor by some customers, with implementation teams reportedly lacking product knowledge and delivering reports that do not match demo capabilities.
  • System updates introduce glitches that disrupt daily operations, making users apprehensive about applying new releases.
  • Filtering and search within the ERP screens is insufficient for complex queries, forcing power users to build manual exports to perform analysis.

Choosing

Infor CloudSuite Corporate logo

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

What's pulling them in

  • Infor CloudSuite is industry-specific out of the box — manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, and food & beverage editions ship with preconfigured workflows that reduce the need for extensive customization and accelerate time to value for operations-heavy organizations.
  • The platform's deep integration with Excel for financial reporting is frequently cited as a key productivity feature, allowing finance teams to pull data directly and make changes without leaving familiar tooling.
  • AWS-hosted multi-tenant deployment eliminates data center management for IT teams, and Infor OS provides a unified integration layer (ION) that connects the CloudSuite to third-party applications without point-to-point middleware.
  • Organizations with multi-site or multi-country operations choose Infor for its multicurrency, multilanguage, and local regulatory compliance capabilities across 175+ countries, which simplifies consolidation for global CFOs.
  • The two-tier ERP strategy positioning lets corporate headquarters run CloudSuite while subsidiaries run lighter instances, which appeals to complex organizational structures that want standardization without full replacement.

Object mapping

Each row shows how a Intact iQ object lands in Infor CloudSuite Corporate, including any object-level transformations, lookup resolution, or schema-design dependencies.

Typical mapping — final map is confirmed during the sample migration step.

Intact iQ

Customer

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Business Partner (Customer)

1:1
Fully supported

Intact iQ Customer records map to Infor CloudSuite Business Partner with Role = Customer. The customer code, name, addresses, credit limit, price list assignment, and account status all transfer. Intact iQ supports multiple addresses per customer (billing, delivery, trading); we map these to Infor's Business Partner Address records with the corresponding address purpose codes. Price list assignment from Intact iQ maps to Infor Price Book linkage on the Business Partner.

Intact iQ

Supplier

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Business Partner (Supplier)

1:1
Fully supported

Intact iQ Supplier records map to Infor CloudSuite Business Partner with Role = Supplier. Supplier-specific fields including payment terms, rebate agreements, and procurement contact details transfer to Infor Business Partner attributes. Where Intact iQ stores supplier-specific notes or categories, we map these to Infor Business Partner User Defined Fields or classification codes.

Intact iQ

Contact

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Contact

1:1
Fully supported

Intact iQ Contact records linked to Customers and Suppliers map directly to Infor CloudSuite Contact records. The association to the parent Business Partner transfers via the Business Partner Number link. Roles, phone numbers, email addresses, and job titles migrate as typed Contact attributes. We validate email format against Infor's validation rules during the transform step.

Intact iQ

Stock Item

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Item

1:1
Fully supported

Intact iQ Stock Items carry BOM structures, variant codes, reorder levels, ABC stock categories, and predictive replenishment rules. We map the core item (code, description, unit of measure, cost price, sell price) directly to Infor Item Master. BOM components map to Infor Item Bill of Materials, variants map to Infor Item Cross References or UOM alternatives, and reorder levels map to Replenishment parameters. Intact iQ's ABC category assignments transfer to Infor's planning or classification attributes. This object has the highest transform complexity because Infor requires Item to exist before any Purchase Order or Sales Order line referencing it.

Intact iQ

Sales Order

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Sales Order

1:1
Fully supported

Open and historical Sales Orders from Intact iQ map to Infor CloudSuite Sales Order. Line items, pricing, discount structures, order totals, and order status transfer. Closed orders migrate as historical records with appropriate closed status codes. The Customer and Item references are resolved against the parent Business Partner and Item records migrated in earlier phases. We flag any Intact iQ orders referencing stock items that failed to migrate for manual resolution.

Intact iQ

Purchase Order

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Purchase Order

1:1
Fully supported

Purchase Order records from Intact iQ, including supplier references, expected delivery dates, and line-level item assignments, map to Infor CloudSuite Purchase Order. The full PO lifecycle from draft through receipt and close transfers. Supplier references resolve against Business Partner records migrated in the supplier phase. Any POs referencing unmigrated Items are flagged for the customer's admin to resolve before closing the migration.

Intact iQ

GL Account

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Account

Mapping required

Outstanding invoices and credit notes require a separate reconciliation pass after master data is confirmed. We extract current open AP and AR items from Intact iQ, map them to Infor's Receivables and Payables invoice records, and flag any partial payments or credit allocations requiring manual resolution. Historical closed invoices migrate as read-only historical records with their original transaction dates preserved for audit continuity.

Intact iQ

Branch and Warehouse

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Site

lossy
Fully supported

Intact iQ's multi-branch and multi-warehouse setup maps to Infor CloudSuite Site records. Each Intact iQ Branch becomes a Site with the corresponding address, branch-level inventory assignments, and user branch assignments mapped to Infor Site-User relationships. We validate branch hierarchies at both source and destination pre-migration because mismatched branch structures are a common source of post-migration inventory discrepancies.

Intact iQ

User

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

User

1:1
Fully supported

Intact iQ User records (roles, branch assignments, permission hierarchies) map to Infor CloudSuite User records. Permissions map to Infor's role-based security model, with the nearest equivalent role assigned where the permission model does not map directly. We flag any Intact iQ permissions with no Infor equivalent for the customer's admin to address post-migration.

Intact iQ

Bank and Cash Accounts

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Bank Account

1:1
Fully supported

Bank accounts, cash accounts, and reconciliation data from Intact iQ map to Infor CloudSuite Bank Account records. Current balances and recent transaction history transfer for re-creation at the destination. Reconciliation data transfers as-is; any unreconciled items flagged for the finance team to resolve post-migration.

Intact iQ

Custom Fields

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

User Defined Fields

lossy
Mapping required

Custom fields added to any standard object in Intact iQ require manual mapping during scoping. We identify all custom field names and data types pre-extraction and map them to Infor CloudSuite User Defined Fields on the corresponding destination object. Custom field type conversion (date formats, numeric precision, picklist values) is handled in the transform layer before load.

Pair-specific challenges

  • Intact iQ API Definition layer requires pre-migration setup

Intact iQ does not expose a standard public REST API. Each data object (Customer, Order, Stock, Supplier, etc.) must be individually defined as an API Definition within the Company Tab before FlitStack AI can access it programmatically. If these definitions have not been created, we cannot extract data via REST and must fall back to direct database extraction, which requires elevated SQL access and may affect live system performance. We identify missing API Definitions during discovery and escalate to the customer's Intact iQ administrator to create them before extraction begins. This step adds one to two weeks to the project timeline if database extraction is required instead.

  • Infor Migration Utility requires SQL Server source and pre-initialized target database

Infor CloudSuite's Migration Utility requires the source Intact iQ database to run on SQL Server 2008 or later and to be network-accessible from the Infor CloudSuite migration environment. If Intact iQ runs on a different database platform (SQL Server version below 2008, or a non-SQL Server platform), or if the database is not accessible from the Infor environment, the migration cannot proceed through the standard utility. We scope the database platform and network topology during discovery and recommend a data export path (CSV or intermediate SQL Server) if direct connectivity is not available.

  • Infor's migration sequence is strict; parent records must load before child records

Infor CloudSuite's Migration Utility enforces a dependency-based import sequence. Unit of Measure Codes must exist before Unit of Measure Conversion data; Business Partner (Supplier) must exist before Purchase Orders; Business Partner (Customer) must exist before Sales Orders; Item records must exist before any Order line referencing them. Violating this sequence results in foreign-key rejection and a failed import step. We produce a detailed import sequence document during planning that reflects the actual Intact iQ data model and the Infor CloudSuite configuration. This sequence is non-negotiable and must be followed exactly during production migration.

  • Document attachments and workflow automation rules are not accessible via Intact iQ API

Documents attached to Orders, Contacts, or Stock Items in Intact iQ are stored in the internal attachment layer, which is not exposed via REST API definitions. Workflow automation rules similarly live in the application layer and are not exportable. We flag both during scoping, export documents manually via Intact iQ's native export or manual download where available, and produce a written rule-rebuild specification for Infor CloudSuite's automation tooling. Neither documents nor automation rules migrate as part of the data migration scope.

  • Large record set extraction can degrade Intact iQ application performance

Capterra reviews consistently report that Intact iQ slows noticeably when handling lists of 10,000+ customer or stock records. During extraction, large record set reads can timeout or degrade application performance for live users. We throttle extraction requests, schedule bulk reads outside of business hours, and use batch sizes calibrated to the system's response time during a pre-migration dry-run. This constraint affects extraction windows but does not affect data quality if throttling is applied correctly.

Migration approach

Six steps for a successful Intact iQ to Infor CloudSuite Corporate data migration

  1. Discovery and data audit

We audit the source Intact iQ environment across API Definition coverage (which objects have REST definitions vs. requiring database extraction), record volumes per object (Customers, Suppliers, Contacts, Stock Items, Orders, GL, AP/AR), branch and warehouse structure, custom field inventory, and user count. We also assess the database platform and version to confirm compatibility with Infor CloudSuite's Migration Utility requirements. The discovery output is a written migration scope document, a data volume estimate by object, and a recommendation on API vs. database extraction per object.

  2. API Definition validation and database access setup

We validate that all required Intact iQ data objects have REST API Definitions configured. For objects without definitions, we work with the customer's Intact iQ administrator to create them or obtain elevated database read access. If database extraction is required, we confirm SQL Server version, network connectivity, and establish read-only access credentials. API Definition creation or database access provisioning typically requires one to two weeks and is owned by the customer's Intact iQ team with our guidance.

  3. Infor CloudSuite target environment and schema validation

We confirm the Infor CloudSuite target environment is initialized with the Migration Utility pack, the source database is accessible from the Infor migration environment, and the account codes and site structures are configured. We review Infor's DataMap schema documentation against the Intact iQ data model to identify non-standard mappings (custom fields, non-matching picklist values, segment structures) and document the required transformation rules. Any GL chart of accounts restructuring required to fit Infor's segment model is flagged for the customer's finance team to approve before migration begins.

  4. Sandbox migration and data reconciliation

We run a full migration into the Infor CloudSuite environment using production-like data volumes. The customer's finance and operations leads reconcile record counts and spot-check migrated values against the Intact iQ source. This includes confirming Business Partner records, Item codes, open AP/AR invoice amounts, and GL account balances. Any mapping corrections are documented and applied before production migration begins. This step also validates the import sequence and identifies any records that fail due to missing parent references.

  5. Production migration in dependency order

We run production migration in the validated dependency sequence: Unit of Measure Codes, Business Partners (Suppliers first, then Customers), Contacts, Items (with BOM and variants), Sites, GL Accounts, Users, Bank Accounts, Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, AP/AR open items, and finally any custom field data. Each phase emits a row-count reconciliation report and a sample record audit before the next phase begins. Large volume phases (Items, Orders) use batch sizes calibrated during the sandbox phase to avoid timeout or performance degradation in Intact iQ.

  6. Cutover, AP/AR reconciliation, and automation rebuild handoff

We freeze Intact iQ writes during cutover, run a final delta migration of any records modified during the migration window, then confirm Infor CloudSuite as the system of record. We perform a final AP/AR balance reconciliation to confirm that open invoice totals match between Intact iQ pre-migration and Infor post-migration. We deliver the document export inventory and workflow automation rule specification to the customer's Infor administrator for rebuild in Infor OS or the applicable module. We support a one-week post-cutover window for reconciliation issues. Workflow rebuild, report rebuilding, and admin training are outside standard migration scope.

Most migrations land between six and ten weeks for accounts under 15,000 customers, 5,000 stock items, and a single-site or straightforward multi-site structure. Migrations with complex multi-branch setups, large open AP/AR ledger populations (500+ open invoices), intricate BOM and variant hierarchies, or GL chart restructuring move to fourteen to twenty weeks because of sequencing validation, branch-to-site mapping, and the AP/AR reconciliation pass. The API Definition setup phase at the beginning can add one to two weeks if database extraction is required.
