Overview
e-Emphasys ERP does not expose a documented public API, so all migrations depend on direct database read access (SQL Server or Oracle) or the built-in reporting module. This fundamentally shapes the migration approach: we negotiate DB credentials during discovery, map e-Emphasys source table schemas directly, and load data into Infor CloudSuite using its external data migration utility. e-Emphasys stores customer and equipment records within a single integrated dealer data model; Infor CloudSuite separates these into Business Partner (Customer/Supplier) and Item Master (serialized equipment and parts) objects, requiring a structural split during transformation. Rental contract terms, technician labor rate schedules, and any active OEM warranty records require manual reconciliation before go-live because Infor CloudSuite's contract and service management modules use different configuration structures than e-Emphasys. We deliver a written inventory of e-Emphasys custom fields and report definitions requiring manual rebuild in Infor OS.
Every standard and custom field arrives verified.
AI proposes the map; you confirm before any record moves.
Parent–child, lookups, and ownership stay linked.
Calls, emails, meetings — with original timestamps.
Documents, uploads, and inline notes move with the record.

Typical mapping — final map is confirmed during the sample migration step.
e-Emphasys ERP
Customer / Account
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Business Partner (Customer role)
1:1e-Emphasys Customer records combine contact details, billing addresses, OEM affiliations, and branch assignments in one record. Infor CloudSuite separates these into Business Partner (the party entity) with separate Address, Contact, and Business Partner Role records. We extract e-Emphasys customer fields, split address and contact data into Infor CloudSuite address book structures, and preserve branch-level assignments as Business Partner Assignment records. OEM affiliation codes from e-Emphasys map to Infor Business Partner Classification codes that we configure during schema setup.
e-Emphasys ERP
Whole Goods (Equipment Inventory)
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Item Master (serialized, tracked by serial number)
1:1e-Emphasys serialized equipment records carry OEM codes, VIN-equivalent identifiers, branch assignment, current status (new/used/rental/demo), and OEM warranty associations. These map to Infor CloudSuite Item Master records with serial number tracking, item classification as equipment, and status codes mapped to Infor Item Availability codes. The e-Emphasys OEM equipment code becomes the Infor Item Cross Reference with a primary supplier assignment. Branch assignment maps to Infor Warehouse or Site assignment on the Item Master.
e-Emphasys ERP
Parts Inventory (serialized and non-serialized)
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Item Master (non-serialized and serialized) + Warehouse Management
1:1e-Emphasys tracks both serialized and non-serialized parts with bin locations, vendor links, cost/price tiers, stock levels, and reorder points. These map to Infor CloudSuite Item Master records with appropriate stocking type (traced for serialized, bulk for non-serialized). Bin locations map to Infor Warehouse Location codes. Vendor links map to Business Partner (Supplier role) assignments on the Item Master. Cost and price tiers migrate as commercial trade agreements in Infor CloudSuite's pricing structure.
e-Emphasys ERP
Work Order
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Service Management (Work Order / Service Order)
1:1e-Emphasys work orders tie to equipment records, technicians, line items for parts used, labor hours, and warranty claim associations. These map to Infor CloudSuite Service Management work orders with the source equipment linked via Item Master serial number reference. Labor hours and rates map to Infor Service Order operations with the technician assigned as a resource. Warranty claim associations migrate as Service Order cause and responsibility references. We flag any work order custom fields that require manual field creation in Infor OS before migration.
e-Emphasys ERP
Rental Contract
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Rent Management (Contract header + Rate Schedule)
lossye-Emphasys rental contracts store equipment assignments, daily/weekly/monthly billing tier structures, equipment swap records, and early return conditions in a single contract entity. Infor CloudSuite separates these into a Rent Contract header, separate rate schedule lines, and equipment assignment records. We extract all rate tiers into an intermediate schema during discovery, map the dominant billing structure to Infor Rent Management contract configuration, and flag any multi-tier rate schedules or swap conditions that exceed Infor's native contract structure. Active contracts require manual reconciliation before go-live.
e-Emphasys ERP
Sales Order / Quote
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Order Management (Sales Order / Quote)
1:1e-Emphasys whole goods sales orders and quotes link customer and equipment records with pricing tiers, OEM incentives, and order status. These map to Infor CloudSuite Order Management sales orders with customer reference to Business Partner, equipment reference to Item Master, and pricing via Infor pricing structures. Order status from e-Emphasys maps to Infor Order Status codes. Open orders in progress at migration time require special handling with a delta migration step during cutover.
e-Emphasys ERP
General Ledger / Journal Entries
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Financials (GL Account + Journal Entry)
1:1e-Emphasys GL accounts, chart of accounts structure, journal entries, and period balances export from the financial module. These map to Infor CloudSuite Financials GL Account Master and Journal Entry records. We preserve the account code structure and period associations, and map account types to Infor Financials account categories. Historical period balances migrate as opening balances in Infor Financials; we recommend the customer coordinates with their Infor implementation partner on year-end close entries before migration.
e-Emphasys ERP
Accounts Payable
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Financials (AP Invoice + Vendor)
1:1e-Emphasys vendor invoices, payment records, and PO-to-invoice associations migrate to Infor CloudSuite Financials AP module with vendor records mapped to Business Partner (Supplier role). We preserve invoice-to-PO associations where they exist in e-Emphasys, and map payment history to Infor AP Payment records. Open AP balances at migration date migrate as outstanding invoices requiring payment in Infor.
e-Emphasys ERP
Accounts Receivable
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Financials (AR Invoice + Customer)
1:1e-Emphasys customer invoices, payments, and AR aging data export with full customer linkage. These map to Infor CloudSuite Financials AR module with customer references mapped to Business Partner (Customer role). Open invoice balances and payment history preserve with customer linkage. We generate an AR aging report from e-Emphasys as of the migration date and enter opening AR balances in Infor Financials accordingly.
e-Emphasys ERP
Technician / Employee
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Human Capital Management / Employee
1:1e-Emphasys employee records include labor rates, certifications, branch assignments, and department affiliations. These map to Infor CloudSuite Employee records with labor category and rate schedule mapped to Infor's payroll or service resource configuration. Certifications tied to OEM specializations (Caterpillar, John Deere) map to Infor Employee Skill records. Custom labor rate schedules in e-Emphasys that exceed Infor's standard rate configuration are flagged for manual verification with the customer's Infor administrator before migration.
e-Emphasys ERP
Warranty Record
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Service Management (Warranty Claim)
1:1e-Emphasys warranty records tie to serialized equipment and OEM claims with claim history, coverage periods, and claim status. These map to Infor CloudSuite Service Management warranty entitlement records linked to the equipment Item Master serial number. OEM codes from e-Emphasys map to Infor Warranty Plan definitions that we configure during schema setup. Active open warranty claims require reconciliation against the destination warranty plan coverage limits before go-live.
e-Emphasys ERP
Custom Fields
Infor CloudSuite Corporate
Infor OS Custom Properties
lossye-Emphasys supports user-defined fields across many modules. We identify all active custom fields during discovery by inspecting the source database schema, documenting their data types and values. These map to Infor OS Custom Properties on the equivalent Infor CloudSuite objects. Some e-Emphasys custom fields may have no natural Infor CloudSuite equivalent; we document these as manual-entry fields in a supplementary spreadsheet for the customer's admin to recreate post-migration. Custom fields on e-Emphasys reports also require rebuild as Infor OS reports or Birst dashboards.

Migration approach
Discovery and database access confirmation
We conduct a structured discovery engagement that includes reading the e-Emphasys database schema directly (SQL Server or Oracle) to document all active tables, custom fields, and their relationships. We confirm read-only database credentials with the customer's IT team, identify the active e-Emphasys modules in use (sales, service, parts, rental, financials), and extract a record count inventory for every major entity. If direct database access is not available due to IT policy, we pivot to the built-in reporting module for CSV exports, which we document with a relational integrity assessment. We also verify the current support contract entity (VitalEdge, CDK, or Ocorian-era) and confirm active support status.
Target schema design in Infor CloudSuite
We design the Infor CloudSuite target schema based on the e-Emphasys source schema. This includes provisioning Business Partner records with address book and role assignments (Customer and Supplier roles), Item Master records for serialized equipment and parts (with serial number tracking, stocking type, and item classification), Service Management work order and warranty structures, Rent Management contract configurations, Order Management sales order and quote structures, and Financials GL account hierarchy, journal entry templates, and AP/AR opening balances. We also map e-Emphasys custom fields to Infor OS Custom Properties. Schema is deployed into the customer's Infor CloudSuite environment for validation before any data migration begins.
Data Assessment Report and transformation rule definition
Using Infor CloudSuite's Preliminary Data Transfer process, we connect to the e-Emphasys migration database and run a Data Assessment Report that analyzes record counts, data quality, and transformation requirements across all source tables. This report identifies records with missing required fields in Infor CloudSuite, invalid foreign key references, data type mismatches, and duplicate records. We define transformation rules for each object mapping—including the customer-equipment split, rate schedule flattening for rental contracts, and OEM code cross-references—and document them in a transformation specification. The customer reviews and approves the Data Assessment Report before we proceed to data load.
Full data migration into Infor CloudSuite
We execute the full data migration in Infor CloudSuite's dependency order: Business Partner master records first (establishing the party entity), then Item Master records for equipment and parts (with serial number and bin location assignments), then transactional data (rental contracts, work orders, sales orders), then financial data (GL accounts, journal entries, AP and AR balances). Each phase emits a row-count reconciliation report comparing e-Emphasys source record counts against Infor CloudSuite destination record counts. We resolve discrepancies before proceeding to the next phase. For large record volumes, we use Infor's batch processing with checkpoint restart capability to maintain data integrity across phases.
Delta migration and cutover planning
We identify a cutover date and freeze window during which no new transactions are created in e-Emphasys. A delta migration captures all records created or modified in e-Emphasys after the initial full migration. We coordinate the delta load with the customer's Infor administrator to ensure the system is ready to receive live transactions. Rental contract status as of the cutover date requires manual verification by the rental operations manager against Infor Rent Management before the delta migration is marked complete.
Go-live, validation, and custom field rebuild handoff
We perform a final reconciliation comparing e-Emphasys closing balances (AR aging, AP aging, inventory quantities, open rental contracts, open work orders) against Infor CloudSuite opening balances. The customer validates 25-50 spot-check records across each major module. We deliver the written inventory of e-Emphasys custom fields and report definitions requiring rebuild in Infor OS or Birst. We support a one-week hypercare window for reconciliation issues. We do not rebuild e-Emphasys customizations in Infor CloudSuite; that work is handled by the customer's Infor administrator or implementation partner as a separate configuration engagement.
