In its favor

Why people choose Adapt

The signal that keeps Adapt on the shortlist. Sourced from G2, Capterra, and customer scoping calls.

Per-user pricing scales with headcount, making Adapt accessible for small HR teams that need core employee management without enterprise overhead.

The browser extension adds a contact-finding layer on top of traditional HRMS records, allowing recruiting and HR staff to enrich candidate or employee contact data without leaving their workflow.

The Basic plan at $10/user/month offers essential HR features including employee profiles, department management, and time-off tracking at a low entry point.

Annual billing discounts of up to 20% reduce the effective per-user cost for teams committed to a 12-month contract.

Custom Enterprise pricing accommodates global workforces with features like advanced reporting, SSO integration, and dedicated support that smaller plans exclude.

Frustration with limited contact and mailbox counts leads users to seek platforms with more generous data storage or unlimited contact models.

Low-quality lead data from the email-finding extension causes users to question data accuracy and switch to dedicated sales intelligence tools.

Reinstalling the software on a new computer is cumbersome, with users reporting that email tracking activation fails repeatedly and support is unhelpful.

The platform's support responsiveness is cited as a pain point, with users feeling abandoned when technical issues persist across reinstalls.

Platform scorecard

Strengths, weaknesses, and where Adapt fits

Grades across six dimensions, plus a SWOT-style view of where the platform shines and where it falls short.

SWOT — strengths, weaknesses, and use-case fit

Strengths

Per-user pricing model with annual discounting reduces cost predictability risk for small teams.Browser extension surfaces contact enrichment inside everyday recruiting and HR workflows without a separate tool.Basic tier covers core HR functions (employee profiles, departments, time-off) at a low entry price.Custom Enterprise tier accommodates SSO, custom fields and dedicated support for larger workforces.Lightweight onboarding and minimal training overhead for small HR teams migrating from spreadsheets.

Weaknesses

Public API and developer documentation are not surfaced on the product website, limiting automated migration paths.Browser-extension reinstall reportedly breaks email tracking with unhelpful support response.Monthly email-find credits cap at a low ceiling and do not roll over month-to-month.Lead and contact data accuracy is criticised by reviewers compared to dedicated sales intelligence tools.Product lineage is fragmented across multiple Adapt-branded products (Adapt HR, Adapt.io, Adapt recruitment CRM), making support and roadmap clarity inconsistent.

Where it works

Small HR teams with fewer than 50 employees that need core employee management without enterprise overhead or complexity.Small businesses and startups with up to 1,000 users seeking an affordable per-user pricing model at the Basic tier.Sales teams that need quick email address lookups within a lightweight browser extension while prospecting.Organizations willing to commit to annual billing cycles to access the 20% discount.Small HR departments in non-regulated industries that primarily need employee profiles, department management, and time-off tracking.

Where it struggles

Large enterprises with complex, multi-country HR requirements requiring SSO integration, advanced reporting, and dedicated support tiers.Organizations with high-volume contact and mailbox needs that consistently hit the platform's storage or contact limits.Teams that require reliable, persistent email tracking across multiple devices or after reinstalling the browser extension.Users who depend on responsive, high-quality technical support when encountering activation or functionality issues.Sales-driven organizations requiring verified, high-quality lead data and accurate contact enrichment from dedicated sales intelligence tools.

What gets migrated

Adapt object support

Object-by-object support for Adapt migrations. Per-pair details surface during scoping.

Employees

Fully supported

Employees is the primary object in Adapt HRMS. We map standard fields (name, email, job title, hire date, department) with full fidelity. Custom employee properties are mapped as-is and preserved during migration.

Departments

Fully supported

Departments are a standard organizational object in Adapt. We preserve the full department hierarchy and remap department IDs to the destination system's equivalent.

Contact Records

Fully supported

Contacts in Adapt include name, email, company association, and extension metadata. We migrate contacts 1:1 with standard field mapping and preserve custom fields.

Companies/Accounts

Mapping required

Company records are supported but schema varies by tier. We map company name, domain, and industry fields; custom company properties require field-level transformation during migration.

Jobs/Positions

Mapping required

Job titles and position records are available but may require value mapping if the destination HRMS uses a different job taxonomy or title standardization rules.

Custom Employee Properties

Mapping required

Adapt supports custom fields on the Employee object. We migrate these as custom fields in the destination system, preserving data type (text, date, number, picklist) where supported.

PTO Balances

Mapping required

PTO data includes current balance and accrual history. We export balances as effective-dated rows; destination systems that do not support accrual history receive the current balance snapshot only.

Compensation History

Mapping required

Salary and compensation records are available in higher tiers. We export the full compensation timeline; mapping to destination pay structures requires a pre-migration field mapping session.
