Overview
Moving from Bigin by Zoho CRM to Monday.com CRM is a schema transformation, not a direct record copy. Bigin organizes all data around Pipelines and Stages containing Deals linked to Contacts and Companies; Monday.com CRM uses a Board-based model where Items represent Deals, Contacts, and Companies within Groups. We convert Bigin's pipeline-and-stage hierarchy into Monday.com Boards with Groups that mirror the original stage structure, preserving Deal amounts, owner assignments, and stage sequencing. Activity history (calls, meetings, notes) migrates as Item updates or attached documents because Monday.com does not maintain a native activity-timeline object comparable to Bigin's engagement records. Workflows, automations, and workflow caps do not migrate; we deliver a written inventory of every active Bigin workflow requiring rebuild in Monday.com's Automation Builder.
Every standard and custom field arrives verified.
AI proposes the map; you confirm before any record moves.
Parent–child, lookups, and ownership stay linked.
Calls, emails, meetings — with original timestamps.
Documents, uploads, and inline notes move with the record.

Object mapping
Each row shows how a Bigin by Zoho CRM object lands in monday CRM, including any object-level transformations, lookup resolution, or schema-design dependencies.
Typical mapping — final map is confirmed during the sample migration step.
Bigin by Zoho CRM
Contact
monday CRM
People Item
1:1Bigin Contacts map to Monday.com People Items on a dedicated CRM Board. Standard fields (name, email, phone, address, owner) migrate to corresponding People columns. Custom fields using the <topping_namespace>__<field_label> naming convention are created as Monday.com column types (dropdown, date, number, text) on the board before migration. Owner assignment maps from Bigin Owner email to the Monday.com Team Member assigned to the Item.
Bigin by Zoho CRM
Company
monday CRM
Organization Item
1:1Bigin Companies (API name: Accounts) map to Monday.com Organizations, which are linked to People Items. The company domain from Bigin's website field becomes the Organization's website column. We preserve Company-Contact linkages by creating the Organization first, then linking each Contact's Item to it via Monday.com's connected columns. Any custom Company fields are recreated as board columns before data import.
Bigin by Zoho CRM
Deal
monday CRM
Item on Deal Board
1:1Bigin Deals map to Monday.com Items on a Deal-specific Board. The Deal amount, closing date, and owner map to Amount, Due Date, and Assignee columns. The pipeline stage assignment (e.g., 'Qualification', 'Proposal Sent') becomes the Item's Group membership. We create one Monday.com Board per Bigin Pipeline to preserve the top-level pipeline structure.
Bigin by Zoho CRM
Pipeline and Stage
monday CRM
Board and Group
lossyBigin Pipelines (3 on Express, unlimited on Premier) become Monday.com Boards. Bigin Stages within each Pipeline become Monday.com Groups within the board. The stage ordering sequence migrates as Group sequence within the Board. Probability values from Bigin pipeline configuration are stored as a number column on each Item for reporting reference. Groups are labeled with the original stage name (e.g., 'Qualification', 'Negotiation', 'Closed Won').

Product
monday CRM
Item on Product Board
1:1Bigin Products map to Items on a dedicated Product Board in Monday.com CRM. Fields including name, unit price, tax rate, and description migrate to corresponding Item columns. Products linked to Deals via line items are represented by creating an Item linking column on the Deal Board that references the Product Board Items, or by storing the product name and price directly in a deal Item's subitem or column.
Bigin by Zoho CRM
Task
monday CRM
Subitem or Item Update
1:1Bigin Tasks linked to Deals, Contacts, or Companies migrate as Monday.com Subitems on the parent Deal Item. Task due date, status, and owner assignment map to Subitem Due Date, Status, and Assignee columns. Standalone Tasks without a parent record migrate as Items on a dedicated Tasks Board. We preserve task-to-record linkages via Monday.com's Subitem structure, which maintains the parent-child relationship natively.
Bigin by Zoho CRM
Event
monday CRM
Item Update or Calendar Integration
1:1Bigin Calendar Events migrate as Item Updates on the linked Deal, Contact, or Company Item with the event title, start time, end time, and location recorded as update text. Recurring events from Bigin (which Bigin's Bulk Read squashes into a single entity) are expanded into individual recurring updates in Monday.com. For teams using Monday.com's Calendar integration, events can alternatively be mapped to the calendar view as linked records.
Bigin by Zoho CRM
Call
monday CRM
Item Update or Subitem
1:1Bigin Call logs (subject, duration, outcome, linked record) migrate as Item Updates on the linked Deal, Contact, or Company Item, preserving the call subject, duration, and disposition. Call duration migrates as a number column update. The linked Contact or Company is identified by email or name match against Monday.com's CRM Items before update creation.
Bigin by Zoho CRM
Note
monday CRM
Item Update (text)
1:1Bigin Notes migrate as Item Updates in Monday.com CRM. Bigin's Bulk Read API excludes Notes, so we extract them via individual record API calls per Bigin's credit-based rate limits. Each Note's body, author, and timestamp become the update text, author tag, and timestamp in Monday.com. For large note volumes, we pace individual API calls against Bigin's credit budget to avoid throttling. Notes are attributed to the parent record (Deal, Contact, Company) via Item lookup before update creation.

Custom Fields
monday CRM
Custom Columns
lossyBigin custom fields using the <topping_namespace>__<field_label> naming convention are mapped to Monday.com column types during the board setup phase. Picklist and multi-select fields map to Monday.com Dropdown or Tag columns. Date fields map to Date columns. Number fields map to Numbers columns. We pre-validate each custom field's data type against Monday.com's supported column types before migration to avoid import failures. The original Bigin field API name is preserved as a column description for audit reference.

Pair-specific challenges
Migration approach
Discovery and pipeline mapping
We audit the source Bigin account across plan tier (Free/Express/Premier), pipeline count, stage definitions, custom field inventory, engagement volume per module, and active workflow count. We pair this with a Monday.com CRM scope review: Standard ($10/user/mo) covers core CRM boards, People, and Organizations; Advanced ($16/user/mo) adds enhanced automation; Enterprise ($19/user/mo) includes advanced permissions and integrations. The discovery output is a written migration scope document with the pipeline-to-board mapping, custom field type list, and Monday.com plan recommendation.
Schema design and board setup
We design the destination schema in Monday.com before any data moves. This includes creating Boards that mirror each Bigin Pipeline, configuring Groups that correspond to pipeline stages, setting up People and Organization boards, creating custom columns mapped from Bigin's custom field inventory (using the <topping_namespace>__<field_label> convention as column descriptions), and configuring Monday.com's connected columns for Company-Contact relationships. Schema is validated in a Monday.com test workspace before production migration begins.
Bigin data extraction and credit budget planning
We extract all modules from Bigin via API. Standard modules (Contacts, Companies, Deals, Products, Pipelines) use the Bulk Read endpoint where available, falling back to paginated individual record calls for Notes, Attachments, and Emails. We calculate the credit consumption against the account's plan tier and pace extraction calls to stay within the daily credit window. Any Bigin Attachments are downloaded individually and prepared for re-upload to Monday.com as linked files or updates. We run a data quality review and flag duplicates, missing owner references, and orphaned records before transformation.
Data transformation and owner resolution
We transform extracted records into Monday.com Item format. Pipeline and stage assignments become Board-Group memberships. Owner email addresses from Bigin are matched to Monday.com Team Members for Assignee assignment. Bigin's custom fields are mapped to Monday.com column types (text, number, date, dropdown). Notes are converted to Item Updates with author attribution. Calls and meetings become Item Updates or Subitems. We run the transformation against a sample set of 50-100 records and reconcile field-by-field against the source before full production migration.
Production migration in dependency order
We run production migration in record-dependency order: Organization Items first (Companies from Bigin), then People Items (Contacts linked to Organizations), then Deal Board Items (with stage-to-Group assignment and amount/owner mapping), then Product Board Items, then Subitems (Tasks) and Updates (Notes, Calls, Events). Each phase emits a row-count reconciliation report before the next phase begins. Any Attachments are uploaded as file updates on the relevant Items after the data phases complete. We pause writes to Bigin during the final delta migration window.
Cutover, validation, and workflow rebuild handoff
We freeze Bigin writes during cutover, run a final delta migration of records modified during the migration window, then enable Monday.com as the system of record. We deliver a written workflow inventory document listing every active Bigin workflow with its trigger, conditions, and recommended Monday.com Automation Builder equivalent. We do not rebuild Bigin workflows as Monday.com automations inside the migration scope; that is a separate engagement. We support a one-week hypercare window to resolve any data reconciliation issues raised by the customer's team.
