Migrate your Genius ERP data

Work Orders are the central production object in Genius ERP. They carry job status, operations, assigned technicians, and real-time tracking. We map Work Order headers, line-level operations, and status history 1:1 in most migrations. Open vs. closed status is preserved as a filterable attribute.

Genius ERP supports multi-level BOMs with nested assemblies and subassemblies. We preserve the full BOM hierarchy including CAD-linked component relationships and revision numbers. BOM versions are captured as separate records when the destination does not support versioned BOMs natively.

Job Costing tracks actual vs. estimated costs per work order. We export the full cost ledger per job including labor, materials, and overhead allocations. Where the destination uses a different costing model, we map to the closest equivalent and flag any cost buckets that will not carry over identically.

Items, stock quantities, warehouse locations, and reorder points migrate cleanly. We handle serial and lot number traceability where present. Open purchase orders are flagged separately since they represent commitments, not just balances.

Customer records, contact information, and account hierarchies map directly. Where Genius CRM fields differ from the destination CRM schema, we apply field-level mapping and preserve any custom customer properties.

Sales Orders and Quotes in Genius ERP carry pricing, line items, and link to Work Orders. Open orders migrate with status preserved. Historical quotes that were never converted require explicit scoping — they are not always considered active data in the export.

Open purchase orders migrate with vendor details, line items, expected delivery dates, and received-vs.-ordered quantities. Closed POs are treated as historical records and scoped separately based on audit requirements.

Genius ERP's G/L is intentionally lightweight. We export all posted journal entries, but the chart of accounts structure and multi-entity posting capabilities are limited compared to dedicated accounting ERPs. We flag any journal entries that reference objects not being migrated (orphaned links).

User accounts, role assignments, and permission sets export as user records. Active vs. inactive status is preserved. Permissions are mapped to the destination's role model, as Genius ERP's role structure does not map directly to most CRMs or generic ERPs.

Genius ERP supports robust custom fields across major objects. Custom field definitions and their current values migrate together. We map field types (text, numeric, date, picklist) to the destination schema and flag any custom fields that cannot be represented in the target system.

Quality management records including inspection results, non-conformance logs, and lot traceability data are object-specific. We migrate the record headers and links; the unstructured inspection notes are exported as text attachments to preserve context.

Documents attached to Work Orders, BOMs, or Customers are exported as binary blobs via the REST API or file share. We preserve the original filename and object association. Large CAD files are chunked and validated post-transfer.
