Overview

What this migration involves

Moving from Exxas Cloud Business Platform to Infor Cloudsuite is a migration between two fundamentally different ERP architectures. Exxas is a Swiss all-in-one cloud platform targeting German-speaking SMEs across eight integrated modules with concurrent-user licensing. Infor Cloudsuite is a multi-tenant SaaS ERP built on AWS with industry-specific editions (Industrial, Distribution, Fashion, Food & Beverage, and more) that shares the Infor OS platform layer across all tenants. We extract data through Exxas API 2.0 endpoints with GraphQL support, normalize German-language field labels and date/currency formats to ISO standards, then load into Infor Cloudsuite's migration database using Infor's prescribed import sequence. Swiss payroll history tied to Exxas's statutory calculation engine does not migrate; we export compensation rates and employment history instead. Workflows, automations, and Exxas custom data masks require separate rebuild scope documented in our post-migration handoff.

Why teams make this switch

Two sides of the same decision

Leaving

Exxas Cloud Business Platform logo

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

What's pushing teams away

  • The platform is German-language only, which becomes a blocker when companies grow internationally or hire English-speaking staff.
  • Organizations that have outgrown mid-market ERP complexity report that Exxas lacks the depth needed for multi-entity accounting, inter-company eliminations, or advanced financial consolidation.
  • Companies moving to or from the platform cite difficulty extracting complete data exports, as the API requires authentication and Swagger documentation is not publicly accessible without a login.

Choosing

Infor CloudSuite Corporate logo

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

What's pulling them in

  • Infor CloudSuite is industry-specific out of the box — manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, and food & beverage editions ship with preconfigured workflows that reduce the need for extensive customization and accelerate time to value for operations-heavy organizations.
  • The platform's deep integration with Excel for financial reporting is frequently cited as a key productivity feature, allowing finance teams to pull data directly and make changes without leaving familiar tooling.
  • AWS-hosted multi-tenant deployment eliminates data center management for IT teams, and Infor OS provides a unified integration layer (ION) that connects the CloudSuite to third-party applications without point-to-point middleware.
  • Organizations with multi-site or multi-country operations choose Infor for its multicurrency, multilanguage, and local regulatory compliance capabilities across 175+ countries, which simplifies consolidation for global CFOs.
  • The two-tier ERP strategy positioning lets corporate headquarters run CloudSuite while subsidiaries run lighter instances, which appeals to complex organizational structures that want standardization without full replacement.

Object mapping

How Exxas Cloud Business Platform objects map to Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Each row shows how a Exxas Cloud Business Platform object lands in Infor CloudSuite Corporate, including any object-level transformations, lookup resolution, or schema-design dependencies.

Typical mapping — final map is confirmed during the sample migration step.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Central: Contacts

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Party / PersonParty / ContactPerson

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas Central module stores person-level contacts with custom fields and multi-currency billing addresses. We map these to Infor's ContactPerson or global party model depending on the target CloudSuite edition. German honorifics (Herr/Frau) map to Infor's gender or title fields. Email addresses, phone numbers, and postal addresses migrate to Infor's party contact fields with ISO-formatted country codes. Any Exxas custom fields on contacts become Infor extended attributes on the party record.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Central: Companies

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Customer / Supplier

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas company records map to Infor Customer or Supplier party records depending on the account type field. The Exxas company registration number and VAT ID migrate to Infor's tax registration fields. Infor requires that at least one active party address exists before transaction records can be linked; we ensure address completeness during the extract phase and flag any company record missing a primary address.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Sales: Deal Pipeline and Stages

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Opportunity / Sales Quote / Sales Order

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas Sales deals map to Infor Opportunities for pre-close pipeline tracking, with stage names translated to Infor's Sales Stage values. Closed-won Exxas deals become Infor Sales Orders; closed-lost deals are held as a flagged Opportunity with a loss reason custom field. The Infor CloudSuite migration utility handles the opportunity-stage mapping, but we pre-configure the sales process and record type in Infor before loading.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Sales: Line Items

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Sales Order Lines / Purchase Order Lines

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas deal line items map to Infor Sales Order or Purchase Order lines with product reference, quantity, and unit price. We resolve the Infor Product2 equivalent using Exxas product code as the dedupe key. If Exxas uses bundled or composite pricing that Infor handles differently, we split into component lines and flag for Infor admin review.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Service: Tickets

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Service Request / Case

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas Service tickets map to Infor Service Management (if CloudSuite Service edition is licensed) or to a custom Case object. Ticket priority, status, and assignment relationships preserve. Attachment handling depends on Infor's document management configuration; we migrate attachments as content records if the target Infor tenant has Document Management enabled, or flag for manual post-migration attachment as a documented step.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Projects: Projects and Sprints

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Project / Work Order

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas project hierarchies with sprints, tasks, and Kanban boards map to Infor Project Management or Manufacturing Work Orders depending on whether the project is customer-facing or production. Employee assignments link to Infor HCM employee records via worker ID. Sprint burndown metrics do not transfer; Infor does not store sprint velocity as a native metric and teams typically recreate these in Infor's reporting layer post-migration.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Products: Inventory and BOM

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Item / Bill of Materials / Stock

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas product records with pricing tiers and stock-on-hand map to Infor Item masters with inventory attributes. BOM relationships migrate to Infor Bill of Materials linked to the finished item. Warehouse-specific bin locations require manual reconciliation because Exxas bin configuration does not have a direct Infor equivalent; we provide a warehouse mapping table as part of the handoff.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Human Resources: Employees

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Worker / Person

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas employee profiles with job titles, departments, employment start dates, and effective-date compensation history migrate to Infor HCM Worker records. Exxas country-specific benefits and Swiss social security identifiers migrate to Infor HCM extended fields. Historical pay rates migrate as read-only compensation records so that future Infor HCM payroll runs have reference data. We flag any employee record with missing required Infor HCM fields (legal name components, national ID) before import.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Payroll History

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Not migrated

1:1
Not supported

Exxas payroll run data is tightly coupled to Swiss statutory tax and social security calculation engines and does not migrate. Exxas payroll exports as read-only compensation history (effective-date pay rates, bonus records, deduction history) for reference in Infor HCM. Full payroll recomputation happens in Infor HCM's Swiss payroll module after go-live. This is disclosed upfront during scoping and is a non-negotiable limitation of this migration pair.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Finance: Journals, AP, and AR

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

General Ledger / Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas chart of accounts migrates to Infor Financial Management with account type mapping (asset, liability, equity, revenue, expense). Open AP and AR records migrate as open items with customer/vendor references, invoice numbers, due dates, and amounts in the functional currency. Historical closed periods migrate as read-only journal batches for audit and regulatory reference. The Infor migration database requires account structure to be seeded before transaction records load, so we sequence the chart of accounts first.

Exxas Cloud Business Platform

Marketing: Campaigns

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Campaign (CRM extension)

1:1
Fully supported

Exxas Marketing module stores campaign records with lead flows and lead assignments. Infor Cloudsuite ERP does not have a native marketing automation layer; campaigns from Exxas migrate as Infor CRM Campaign records for tracking reference, but lead scoring, lead nurturing, and campaign workflows do not transfer. We document the campaign list structure and suggest Infor Marketing Cloud or a third-party marketing automation tool if the customer requires continued campaign automation.

Pair-specific challenges

  • Exxas API Swagger requires authenticated access before scoping

The Exxas API 2.0 Swagger portal at api.exxas.net is gated behind login credentials. We cannot browse available endpoints, enumerate custom field definitions, or map object schemas without an active Exxas account with API access enabled. This is a pre-scoping blocker. We ask customers to provide Exxas API credentials during the sales engineering phase so we can validate the actual schema before committing to a migration plan. The Enterprise tier includes full Swagger documentation; Professional tier API access may be limited to subset endpoints.

  • Swiss payroll run data does not migrate

Exxas payroll runs are tightly integrated with Swiss social security (AHV/IV/EO), pension fund (BVG), and tax calculation engines that do not have equivalents in Infor HCM's Swiss configuration by default. We export employee compensation rates and historical earnings as read-only reference records, but the payroll run history (payslip records, deduction detail, net pay) does not transfer. This is a fundamental schema difference between the two platforms and requires the customer to recompute historical payroll context in Infor HCM or accept it as audit reference data only.

  • Infor CloudSuite migration utility requires SQL database access

The Infor CloudSuite migration utility maps, transforms, and imports data from external SQL database tables into Infor's migration database, from which validated records copy into the live system. This means Exxas data must first be exported to a SQL-compatible format (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL export) before Infor's utility can consume it. We handle the Exxas API extraction, SQL staging database creation, and Infor import parameter configuration as part of our standard migration methodology. Customers using Exxas's hosted environment without direct database access require additional API export coordination.

  • Exxas Workflows and automations have no Infor equivalent

Exxas process automations, notification rules, and custom approval workflows are built within Exxas's own workflow engine and do not have structural equivalents in Infor CloudSuite's configuration model. We do not migrate workflows as code. We deliver a written inventory of every active Exxas automation with its trigger conditions, actions, and assigned users, plus a recommended Infor configuration approach (Infor Birst workflows, Infor ION events, or Infor OS business event rules). The customer's Infor implementation partner rebuilds these as part of their post-migration configuration scope.

  • German-language data requires preprocessing before Infor import

Exxas stores all field labels, picklist values, and user-entered data in German. We normalize German date formats (DD.MM.YYYY) to ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DD) and German currency formatting (1.234,56) to decimal format (1234.56) during the extract-to-staging phase. Field names from Exxas custom data masks are machine-translated to English equivalents for Infor's English-language schema, with the original German field label preserved in a reference column for the customer's admin team to rename post-migration.

Migration approach

Six steps for a successful Exxas Cloud Business Platform to Infor CloudSuite Corporate data migration

  1. Discovery and API schema enumeration

We request Exxas API credentials and enumerate the actual available objects, custom field definitions, and relationship endpoints through Exxas API 2.0 and Swagger. We audit the Exxas data landscape: record counts per module, custom data mask count and field type distribution, active workflow count, attachment volume, and payroll data scope. We pair this with Infor Cloudsuite edition confirmation (Industrial, Distribution, Fashion, or other) so that we can map Exxas modules to the relevant Infor functional areas. The discovery output is a written migration scope document with object-level mapping and a list of items excluded from automated migration.

  2. Exxas data extraction and staging

We extract data from Exxas using API 2.0 endpoints with GraphQL queries for complex relationships, handling rate limiting with exponential backoff and batch chunking for large object sets (e.g., multi-year finance journals, large product catalogs). German-language field names and picklist values are translated to English in the staging layer. Dates and currencies are normalized to ISO and decimal formats. The staging database is built in a SQL environment (PostgreSQL or SQL Server) so that it is compatible with Infor CloudSuite's migration utility intake format. We run a data profiling pass to identify duplicates, referential integrity gaps, and missing required fields before Infor import begins.

  3. Infor schema configuration and migration database setup

We configure the Infor CloudSuite target environment in a Sandbox or staging tenant. This includes setting up the chart of accounts structure, party type configuration (Customer, Supplier, Employee, Contact), item master and BOM structure, project templates, and the Infor Financial Management ledgers. We create the Infor migration database and specify import parameters connecting to the Exxas staging SQL environment. We pre-create any Infor extended attribute fields needed to capture Exxas custom field values that have no native Infor equivalent. This step requires coordination with the customer's Infor implementation partner if one is engaged.

  4. Sandbox migration and reconciliation

We run a full end-to-end migration into the Infor staging environment using production-equivalent data volume. The customer reconciles record counts (Customers in, Workers in, Items in, open AP/AR in, Project hierarchies in), spot-checks 25-50 records per module against Exxas source, and reviews the data assessment report generated by Infor's migration utility. Any mapping corrections, missing field handling, and transformation adjustments happen in this phase. The customer signs off on the reconciled staging migration before production migration is scheduled.

  5. Production migration in dependency order

We execute the production migration following Infor's prescribed sequence: chart of accounts first, then party master data (customers, suppliers, contacts, workers), then product and inventory records, then project hierarchies, then open AP/AR and deal records, then attachment content (if Infor Document Management is enabled). Each phase emits a row-count and error-rate report. Finance journal imports run last because they reference the complete chart of accounts and all party records. We use Infor's migration utility for structured records and direct API for any records that the utility cannot handle (e.g., custom object extensions).

  6. Cutover, validation, and handoff

We freeze Exxas write access during cutover, run a final delta migration for any records modified during the migration window, then enable Infor Cloudsuite as the system of record. We deliver the workflow automation inventory document and the Exxas custom data mask field map to the customer's Infor admin team. We support a one-week hypercare window to resolve record-level reconciliation issues raised by the business. We do not rebuild Exxas workflows in Infor CloudSuite as part of the migration scope; that is a separate engagement with the customer's Infor implementation partner or internal admin team.

Standard migrations covering master data (contacts, companies, products, open AP/AR) and up to 5,000 employee records complete in six to ten weeks. Migrations including multi-year finance journal history, complex product BOM structures, project hierarchies with time entries, or multi-site inventory move to fourteen to twenty-four weeks because of data profiling complexity, transformation work, and reconciliation scope. On top of the migration timeline, Infor Cloudsuite implementation (configuration, testing, user acceptance testing, and training) typically adds three to six months managed by an Infor implementation partner.
