Overview

What this migration involves

LeadPrime to Nutshell is a migration from a lead-distribution specialist into a full-featured SMB CRM. LeadPrime excels at Round Robin, Shark Tank, and territory-based routing but limits deal management, forecasting, and public API access. Nutshell offers customizable pipelines from Growth tier ($25/user/mo), Round Robin assignment rules on Growth and above, a documented Import2 integration path, and a REST API for programmatic access. We migrate the full contact, company, lead, and activity record set, document every LeadPrime distribution rule for manual re-implementation in Nutshell, and flag Lead Finder Credits as a billing token that has no Nutshell equivalent. Workflows and automations are inventoried and not migrated as code.

Field-level fidelity

Every standard and custom field arrives verified.

Schema-aware mapping

AI proposes the map; you confirm before any record moves.

Relationships preserved

Parent–child, lookups, and ownership stay linked.

Full activity history

Calls, emails, meetings — with original timestamps.

Attachments & notes

Documents, uploads, and inline notes move with the record.

Why teams make this switch

Two sides of the same decision

Leaving

LeadPrime logo

LeadPrime

What's pushing teams away

  • Credit-based model can unexpectedly throttle outreach when teams hit Lead Finder limits mid-campaign and the next billing cycle is days away.
  • Teams that outgrow basic lead distribution often find the platform lacks advanced deal management, forecasting, and revenue operations features.
  • Limited public API documentation makes deep integrations and automated workflows difficult to build, pushing technically ambitious teams toward alternatives.

Choosing

Nutshell logo

Nutshell

What's pulling them in

  • Lowest cost entry point among mid-market CRMs—Foundation plan starts at $13/user/month, making it accessible for teams validating CRM fit before committing.
  • Integrated sales automation and email sequencing on Pro plans without requiring a separate email marketing platform, per verified Capterra reviews.
  • Consistently praised for intuitive interface and fast onboarding, with case studies reporting 100% team adoption rates within initial deployment periods.
  • Strong customer support responsiveness cited across G2 reviews, with dedicated support tiers available on Enterprise plans.
  • Native integrations with WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and Slack reduce reliance on third-party middleware for common communication channels.

Object mapping

How LeadPrime objects map to Nutshell

Each row shows how a LeadPrime object lands in Nutshell, including any object-level transformations, lookup resolution, or schema-design dependencies.

Typical mapping — final map is confirmed during the sample migration step.

LeadPrime

Lead

maps to

Nutshell

Lead

1:1
Fully supported

LeadPrime Leads migrate directly to Nutshell Leads. Standard fields (name, email, phone, source) map 1:1 to Nutshell's Lead fields. Any custom fields on the Lead object are read during scoping, mapped to equivalent Nutshell Lead custom fields (text, long text, currency, date, or checkbox per Nutshell's supported types), and pre-created in the destination before import. Lead status and owner assignment migrate as-is. Where LeadPrime used a Lead Finder enrichment result stored as a custom field, that value migrates as a text field because Nutshell has no enrichment credit system to carry it forward.

LeadPrime

Contact

maps to

Nutshell

Person

1:1
Fully supported

LeadPrime Contacts map to Nutshell People (the standard Nutshell term for individual contact records). Name, email, phone, title, and address fields migrate 1:1. Custom fields and tag assignments on the Contact are mapped to equivalent Nutshell People custom fields and tags. Any Lead-to-Contact conversion linkage in LeadPrime is preserved as a Person record with the original lead source tracked in a custom field.

LeadPrime

Company

maps to

Nutshell

Company

1:1
Fully supported

LeadPrime Company records map directly to Nutshell Companies. Company name, industry, size, website, and address fields migrate 1:1. Custom fields on the Company object are pre-created in Nutshell before import. The Nutshell Company record is created before any linked Person records to satisfy the company-people relationship at insert time.

LeadPrime

User

maps to

Nutshell

User

1:1
Fully supported

LeadPrime User records (sales reps, admins, managers) map to Nutshell User accounts by email match. Active/inactive status and any role assignments are preserved in a custom field. Owners without a matching Nutshell User are held in a reconciliation queue for the customer's admin to provision before record import resumes.

LeadPrime

Pipeline

maps to

Nutshell

Pipeline

lossy
Fully supported

LeadPrime's multiple pipeline configurations map to Nutshell Pipelines. Foundation tier supports one pipeline; Pro ($42/user/mo) supports up to 5 pipelines; Enterprise ($79/user/mo) supports unlimited. We export the full pipeline topology from LeadPrime and recreate it in Nutshell with stage names and sequence preserved. If the customer requires more than one pipeline and is on Foundation, we flag this as a tier upgrade requirement before migration.

LeadPrime

Pipeline Stage

maps to

Nutshell

Pipeline Stage

lossy
Fully supported

Each LeadPrime pipeline stage becomes a Nutshell pipeline stage with the same name and order. Stage-specific routing triggers in LeadPrime (stage-specific assignment rules) do not migrate as logic; they are documented as part of the distribution rule inventory for manual re-implementation in Nutshell's stage automation features.

LeadPrime

Lead Distribution Rules

maps to

Nutshell

Round Robin / Territory Assignment

1:1
Mapping required

LeadPrime's Round Robin, Blind, Shark Tank, Hybrid, and territory-based distribution rules are stored as platform configuration, not as data records. We export the full rule definitions during scoping (criteria, weights, capacity limits, rep assignments, territory mappings) and deliver a written inventory document mapping each LeadPrime rule to a recommended Nutshell Round Robin or territory assignment configuration. Nutshell Growth and above support Round Robin; Nutshell Business and Enterprise support territory and team assignment. The customer's admin re-implements the rules post-migration based on the inventory.

LeadPrime

Activities

maps to

Nutshell

Activities

1:1
Mapping required

Calls, emails, meetings, and notes logged against leads or contacts in LeadPrime migrate as Nutshell Activities. Activity type, timestamp, description, and owner assignment are preserved. Nutshell supports activity logging as a standard feature; engagement history migrates in chronological order by the original activity timestamp. If LeadPrime stored enrichment lookup results as a note or activity entry, those migrate as plain-text notes in Nutshell with the original timestamp preserved.

LeadPrime

Custom Fields

maps to

Nutshell

Custom Fields

1:1
Mapping required

LeadPrime custom fields on Leads, Contacts, and Companies are per-organization schema elements. We read the full field list during scoping, identify each field's data type, and map to the equivalent Nutshell custom field type (text, long text, currency, date, checkbox, dropdown). Nutshell Foundation supports custom fields; Enterprise tier includes unlimited custom fields. We pre-create the destination fields before any record import to avoid schema mismatch errors.

LeadPrime

Tags

maps to

Nutshell

Tags

1:1
Mapping required

LeadPrime tags migrate as flat label assignments on the respective Nutshell record (Lead, Person, or Company). Nutshell's tag system is flat rather than hierarchical, so any LeadPrime tag taxonomy with grouping or hierarchy is flattened to a flat label list and documented for the customer to reorganize in Nutshell if needed.

LeadPrime

Lead Finder Credits

maps to

Nutshell

None

1:1
Not supported

LeadPrime Lead Finder Credits are a platform-internal billing token for enrichment lookups and have no data equivalent in Nutshell. They do not represent contact records, historical enrichment results, or any migratable data artifact. We confirm the credit balance at cutover and recommend the customer download their credit purchase history separately for financial records. Any enrichment data already written to lead records (verified email, phone number) migrates as part of those records as standard custom fields.

Pair-specific challenges

  • LeadPrime distribution rules do not export as migratable records

LeadPrime stores Round Robin, Shark Tank, Hybrid, and territory routing rules as platform configuration rather than as data records. There is no export mechanism for these rules as functional logic. We document every rule definition during scoping (criteria, capacity limits, rep assignments, weighting, territory scopes) in a written inventory and map each to a recommended Nutshell Round Robin or territory assignment configuration. The customer's admin rebuilds the rules in Nutshell post-migration. Skipping this inventory step means the routing logic is lost at cutover and sales operations must manually reassign leads from day one.

  • No documented public API constrains automated export

LeadPrime does not publish a documented REST API, API key format, or rate limit specification. Available export paths are typically CSV bulk export and any active third-party integrations. If LeadPrime's data export relies on a UI-initiated bulk download, large datasets require multiple export sessions or manual segmentation. We assess available export paths at scoping and design the migration to use CSV extraction where API access is unavailable, with Nutshell's Import2 tool handling the destination bulk load. The absence of an API also means incremental delta syncs during the migration window require re-extraction rather than webhook push.

  • Lead Finder Credit balance and enrichment results require separate handling

LeadPrime's Lead Finder Credits fund email verification, phone lookups, and waterfall enrichment. They are a billing quota, not a data artifact, and have no Nutshell equivalent. At cutover, we confirm the credit balance and flag it as non-migratable. Any verified email addresses and phone numbers already written to lead records migrate as standard text fields on those records. The customer should download their enrichment purchase history separately for financial records. Post-migration, the team selects and configures a separate enrichment vendor (NeverBounce, Clearbit, Apollo, or similar) to replace Lead Finder functionality.

  • Nutshell tier limits affect pipeline and field count

Nutshell Foundation ($13/user/mo) is limited to one pipeline and basic custom fields. Teams with multiple LeadPrime pipelines must upgrade to Nutshell Pro ($42/user/mo, up to 5 pipelines) or Enterprise ($79/user/mo, unlimited pipelines) before migration. We identify the required tier during scoping and include the tier recommendation in the migration scope document. Migration cannot proceed to Nutshell Foundation if the source has more than one active pipeline; attempting to load multiple pipelines into a Foundation account results in a schema rejection.

Migration approach

Six steps for a successful LeadPrime to Nutshell data migration

  1. Discovery and export path assessment

We audit the LeadPrime account across the full object inventory: Leads, Contacts, Companies, Users, custom fields on each object, tag assignments, pipeline count and stage names, and distribution rule definitions. We assess the available export paths (UI bulk export, any active integrations, or API probe if accessible) and document the row counts per object. We pair this with a Nutshell edition assessment: Foundation ($13/user) for single-pipeline use cases, Pro ($42/user) for teams needing up to five pipelines and sales automation, Business ($59/user) for territory and team assignment, Enterprise ($79/user) for unlimited pipelines and custom fields. The discovery output is a written migration scope with record counts and Nutshell tier recommendation.

  2. Distribution rule inventory and documentation

We extract every LeadPrime distribution rule definition: routing type (Round Robin, Blind, Shark Tank, Hybrid, territory), assignment criteria, rep weights, daily or cycle caps, capacity limits, and territory or bucket assignments. We deliver a written distribution rule inventory that maps each LeadPrime rule to a recommended Nutshell Round Robin configuration (Growth tier and above) or territory/team assignment (Business tier and above). This document is the primary handoff artifact for the customer's admin to rebuild routing logic post-migration. We do not implement the rules in Nutshell as part of the migration scope.

  3. Schema design and Nutshell tier provisioning

We design the destination schema in Nutshell based on the LeadPrime field inventory. This includes creating equivalent custom fields for every LeadPrime custom field on Leads, Contacts, and Companies, matching field types (text, long text, currency, date, checkbox, dropdown). We configure the pipeline and stage structure, mapping each LeadPrime pipeline to a Nutshell pipeline with stage names and sequence preserved. If the customer requires multiple pipelines and is on Foundation, we coordinate the tier upgrade before schema creation. We verify the Nutshell account is active and the migration user has sufficient permissions to create custom fields and import records.

  4. Sample migration and reconciliation

We run a sample migration using a subset of records (typically 100-200 per object type) via Nutshell's Import2 tool or direct API insert. The customer's admin reviews the sample in Nutshell, verifies field mapping accuracy, confirms pipeline assignment, and checks that person-company linkages are correct. Any mapping corrections are applied before the full migration. The sample migration validates that the chosen export path (CSV bulk extract from LeadPrime) produces clean, complete records without data truncation or encoding issues.

  5. Full production migration in dependency order

We run production migration in record-dependency order: Nutshell Users (validated against email matches), Companies (from LeadPrime Companies), People (from LeadPrime Contacts with CompanyId resolved), Leads (with owner assignment), pipeline and stage configuration (applied before or alongside record import), activities (calls, emails, meetings, notes) with timestamps preserved. Each phase emits a row-count reconciliation report before the next phase begins. Lead Finder Credit balance is confirmed and documented as non-migratable at this step. Custom fields and tags are applied per-record during the relevant phase insert.

  6. Cutover, validation, and rule rebuild handoff

We freeze LeadPrime writes during cutover and run a final delta migration of any records created or modified during the migration window. We deliver the complete distribution rule inventory document to the customer's admin team for re-implementation in Nutshell. We do not rebuild LeadPrime automations or routing logic as Nutshell rules inside the migration scope. We support a post-migration validation window where we resolve record count discrepancies and mapping errors raised by the customer's team. Nutshell's Import2 history log serves as the final reconciliation record for the migration.

Strengths

  • Highly configurable lead distribution engine covering Round Robin, Blind, Shark Tank, and Hybrid routing
  • Credit-based pricing with a functional free tier and no long-term contracts
  • LinkedIn and Sales Navigator integration for direct contact profile imports
  • Mobile CRM access with real-time lead capture for field sales teams
  • Waterfall enrichment across 20+ vendors for verified email and phone verification

Weaknesses

  • Limited or undocumented public API constrains automated integrations and migrations
  • Lead Finder Credits are a billing quota system that does not carry forward to other platforms
  • Advanced deal management, revenue forecasting, and pipeline analytics are limited compared to full-featured CRMs
  • Custom field and workflow automation capabilities are basic outside the lead distribution core
  • No evidence of a bulk export feature, which may complicate data extraction for large migrations
Nutshell logo

Nutshell

Destination

Strengths

  • Simple, intuitive interface with minimal learning curve for sales teams new to CRM
  • Per-seat pricing is transparent and predictable, with annual billing reducing monthly cost
  • Full data export tool available for all account data including backups
  • Open JSON-RPC API allows programmatic access to all core objects
  • Native multichannel engagement (email, SMS, WhatsApp) without third-party add-ons for communication

Weaknesses

  • Reporting and analytics are considered weak, requiring manual Excel exports for detailed analysis
  • No bulk API endpoint—migration requires paginated API reads that must be rate-limited carefully
  • JSON-RPC API is less common than REST, requiring custom integration code compared to standard REST CRMs
  • Add-on costs (Forms, Nutshell IQ, Email Marketing) are per-company charges that stack on top of per-seat pricing
  • Feature restrictions on entry-level plans mean teams often need mid-tier to get basic automation

Most migrations land between two and four weeks for accounts under 5,000 contacts, 1,000 deals, and a single pipeline. Migrations with multiple LeadPrime pipelines, large activity histories (over 100,000 engagement records), or complex custom field schemas move to five to eight weeks because of schema pre-creation time, distribution rule documentation, and Nutshell Import2 batch reconciliation. The Nutshell tier upgrade decision (if multiple pipelines are required) can add one to two weeks to scoping.
