Why people choose Kartra
The signal that keeps Kartra on the shortlist. Sourced from G2, Capterra, and customer scoping calls.
Consolidates email marketing, funnels, checkout, and memberships into one platform, eliminating separate subscriptions for solopreneurs and small businesses generating $5K–$50K/month.
Generous contact limits on the Starter plan (2,500) with unlimited emails and SMS at no per-message cost or platform transaction fees.
Includes built-in video hosting, calendar booking, AI copywriting (Kartra AI), and drag-and-drop page builder at every paid tier.
Kartra's own migration guide explicitly encourages customers to export leads to CSV before moving, validating CSV-based migration as the standard extraction path.
Drag-and-drop page editor and pre-built funnel templates let non-technical users launch landing pages and sales funnels without a developer.
CRM depth is shallow compared to dedicated CRMs — no true lead scoring engine, limited pipeline management, and basic contact profiles frustrate users with complex sales processes.
Steep learning curve despite a polished UI; users report months of trial-and-error before feeling comfortable with automation sequences and behavioral triggers.
Contact-based pricing means hitting your plan limit forces an upgrade even if most contacts are inactive, creating pressure to purge records to stay in tier.
The mobile app is widely described as limited and unreliable, forcing users to manage most tasks from a desktop browser.
Support response times lag behind competitors, with users citing multi-day waits for ticket resolution during critical issues.

What gets migrated
Kartra object support
Object-by-object support for Kartra migrations. Per-pair details surface during scoping.
Contacts (formerly Leads)
Fully supportedThe central Kartra object, renamed from 'Leads' in October 2024. Standard fields (name, email, phone, address, company) map cleanly. We export oldest-to-newest to preserve lead creation order and replicate the original sequence in the destination system.
Custom Fields
Mapping requiredKartra supports five field types: input_field, text_area, drop_down, radio_button, checkbox. All custom fields appear in the CSV export. We read the Kartra field schema via API to determine types and apply appropriate mapping to destination field formats, which vary by CRM.
Tags
Mapping requiredTags are stored as comma-separated strings in the Kartra CSV export. We parse and split them into individual tag records at the destination. Note: Tags applied retroactively (e.g., 'form completed') are present; untagged behavioral events are not captured at all.
Lists
Mapping requiredKartra Lists are exported as comma-separated values per contact. We split list memberships into individual destination list or segment records. If the destination CRM uses a different list/segment model, we map list names to the closest equivalent.
Transactions
Mapping requiredKartra exports transactions as a separate CSV from the contacts export. We map transaction fields (amount, product, date, payment method) to destination objects. Note: 'Total spend' is explicitly NOT exported by Kartra; we cannot migrate historical revenue data.
Subscriptions
Mapping requiredSubscription records export separately from contacts. We map subscription status (active, cancelled, paused), start date, and associated product/membership. Kartra does not export subscription revenue totals directly.
Memberships and Courses
Not in this platformKartra does not export membership access or course enrollment data in any standard CSV export. This information is not available for migration unless the customer manually exported it or used tags to track access events.
Sequences (Automated Email Sequences)
Not in this platformSequences are Kartra automation workflows with multiple steps, delays, and conditions. They do not export as structured data. We cannot migrate sequence logic; customers must rebuild sequences at the destination using exported contact data as a seed.
Forms
Not in this platformForm definitions and submission records are not exported via Kartra's standard CSV. Forms completed are absent from the export unless each completion triggered a tag. Form structure must be rebuilt at the destination.
Surveys
Not in this platformSurvey questions and answers are not exported in Kartra's standard CSV. Survey completion data is absent unless each completion triggered a tag. Survey logic must be rebuilt at the destination.
Affiliates
Mapping requiredAffiliate sign-up events are tracked in Kartra's API events system. We can map affiliate relationships to the destination CRM's affiliate or partner object where supported, using tag-based triggers as the source of record.
Calendars (Appointments)
Mapping requiredKartra Calendars are booking objects. We map calendar names and configurations to the destination's scheduling tool. Historical appointment records require separate export and are not included in the standard contact CSV.
