Overview

What this migration involves

Teams migrate from Breakcold to HubSpot when they need deeper reporting, marketing automation, or a platform that scales beyond outbound-only workflows. Breakcold stores contacts with LinkedIn/Twitter profile URLs, social engagement signals, and pipeline-stage history; HubSpot models contacts with lifecycle_stage, companies with industry classification, and deals with dealstage and pipeline pick-lists. The migration carries everything Breakcold stores natively (contacts, companies, deals, activities, custom fields) into HubSpot's object model. The harder problems are translating Breakcold's social-handle fields into HubSpot custom properties, mapping pipeline stages to HubSpot deal stages, preserving engagement history as HubSpot engagements, and handling the token-based enrichment model that has no direct HubSpot equivalent. We surface custom properties for rebuild reference and deliver a rebuild guide for any Breakcold automation sequences your team used for outreach. During migration, we also handle contact-to-company associations through HubSpot's association model, preserve original create and update timestamps in custom datetime fields, and resolve HubSpot owners by email match for accurate record attribution.

Why teams make this switch

Two sides of the same decision

Leaving

Breakcold logo

Breakcold

What's pushing teams away

  • No published export function forces customers to manually rekey Contacts when leaving, making data portability a real blocker cited in trial reviews.
  • Steep learning curve and LinkedIn integration fragility frustrate users who expected the social features to work reliably out of the box.
  • Reporting and analytics are thin compared to established CRMs, pushing ops teams into manual CSV exports to compensate.
  • Support responsiveness on the free trial is poor, with customers reporting zero chat access and incomplete help documentation, causing churn during evaluation.
  • Breakcold lacks depth for teams scaling past 3-5 reps, who find it held together with duct tape once reporting needs mature.

Choosing

HubSpot logo

HubSpot

What's pulling them in

  • Lowest barrier to entry of any major CRM — the free tier with unlimited contacts lets teams validate fit before committing to a paid plan, according to G2 and Capterra reviewers.
  • Native integration between the CRM and sales engagement tools (sequences, email tracking, dialer) means no separate sync configuration, a theme across G2 Sales Hub reviews.
  • Pipeline visualization, deal tracking, and automated workflows are consistently praised as intuitive and easy to set up without developer involvement.
  • Strong onboarding for new team members — reviewers on Capterra and G2 highlight how quickly new reps become productive without formal training.
  • The HubSpot platform ecosystem (Marketing, Sales, Service, CMS hubs) allows growing companies to consolidate tools without building new integrations.

Object mapping

How Breakcold objects map to HubSpot

Each row shows how a Breakcold object lands in HubSpot, including any object-level transformations, lookup resolution, or schema-design dependencies.

Typical mapping — final map is confirmed during the sample migration step.

Breakcold

Contact

maps to

HubSpot

Contact

1:1
Fully supported

Direct map. HubSpot requires a primary company association via Company ID lookup. Breakcold contacts without a linked company land in HubSpot as contacts with no company association. Original create and update timestamps preserved in a custom datetime field since HubSpot's CreatedDate reflects migration time.

Breakcold

Contact (social profile URLs)

maps to

HubSpot

Contact (custom properties)

1:1
Fully supported

Breakcold stores linkedin_url, linkedin_page_url, and twitter_handle as contact-level string properties. HubSpot has no native social-profile URL fields for contacts. We create Breakcold_LinkedIn_URL__c and Breakcold_Twitter_Handle__c custom properties to preserve this data for reference and HubSpot LinkedIn Sales Navigator matching. These properties enable your team to leverage HubSpot's LinkedIn integration capabilities with the preserved social profile data.

Breakcold

Contact (lifecycle stage)

maps to

HubSpot

Contact (lifecycle_stage)

1:1
Fully supported

Breakcold has no lifecycle-stage equivalent. We set a default lifecycle_stage (typically 'lead') during migration. Your team updates contacts to the appropriate HubSpot lifecycle stage post-migration. Original Breakcold create date and last-activity date are preserved as custom datetime fields for manual lifecycle-stage inference.

Breakcold

Company

maps to

HubSpot

Company

1:1
Fully supported

Direct map. Breakcold company name, domain, industry, and employee count map to HubSpot company fields. Parent-company hierarchies in Breakcold map to HubSpot's Parent Company ID lookup if your HubSpot plan supports it. Multi-company associations on Breakcold contacts collapse to one primary company in HubSpot.

Breakcold

Company (social profile)

maps to

HubSpot

Company (custom properties)

1:1
Fully supported

Breakcold stores linkedin_page_url on companies. HubSpot Company has no native social-profile URL field. We create Breakcold_LinkedIn_Page__c custom property to preserve the URL for reference or LinkedIn integration matching. This property maintains your company social presence data and supports future LinkedIn Sales Navigator or company lookup integrations.

Breakcold

Deal

maps to

HubSpot

Deal

1:1
Fully supported

Direct map. Breakcold deal name, value, stage, close date, and owner map to HubSpot deal fields. HubSpot deal stage is a pick-list scoped to the deal's pipeline. We map Breakcold pipeline stages to HubSpot deal stage values during migration and preserve stage-transition timestamps.

Breakcold

Pipeline

maps to

HubSpot

Deal Pipeline

1:1
Fully supported

Breakcold pipelines with unlimited custom stages map to HubSpot deal pipelines. Each Breakcold pipeline becomes one HubSpot deal pipeline. Stage names and order map 1:1 by default; your team configures the HubSpot pipeline stage probability and forecast category after migration.

Breakcold

Activity (calls, emails, meetings, notes)

maps to

HubSpot

Engagement (calls, emails, meetings, notes)

1:1
Fully supported

Breakcold call logs, email logs, meeting logs, and notes map to HubSpot engagements on the respective contact or deal record. Original timestamps, owners, and linked records (contact, deal) are preserved. Note content migrates as HubSpot note engagements with original body text intact.

Breakcold

Custom fields (contact, company, deal)

maps to

HubSpot

Custom properties (contact, company, deal)

1:1
Fully supported

Breakcold custom fields on any object map to HubSpot custom properties. We create the properties in HubSpot before migration, matching data types (text, number, date, pick-list) and preserving original field labels. Pick-list custom fields require value-by-value mapping if Breakcold uses custom options not present in HubSpot's default pick-lists. We deliver a complete custom property mapping table as part of the migration plan before execution.

Breakcold

User / Owner

maps to

HubSpot

User

1:1
Fully supported

Breakcold user records resolve to HubSpot users by email address match. Unmatched Breakcold owners (inactive users, departed team members) are flagged before migration. Your team either creates HubSpot user records for them or assigns their records to a designated fallback HubSpot owner.

Breakcold

Enrichment tokens / AI scores

maps to

HubSpot

Custom property (no equivalent intelligence layer)

1:1
Fully supported

Breakcold's token-based enrichment data (AI-generated scores, enriched contact data points) has no native HubSpot equivalent. We preserve the enrichment data values as custom properties for reference, but the active enrichment and scoring logic must be rebuilt using HubSpot Intelligence, native lead scoring, or a third-party enrichment partner.

Pair-specific challenges

  • Token-based AI enrichment scores have no native HubSpot equivalent

Breakcold's token-based enrichment system ($59/mo plan includes 150,000 tokens) generates AI scores, contact data enrichment, and social profile data that HubSpot cannot natively import. We preserve enrichment values as custom properties on the contact record for reference, but the active scoring logic and enrichment triggers cannot migrate. Teams relying on Breakcold's AI scores for routing or prioritization need to rebuild using HubSpot Intelligence, native lead scoring, or a third-party enrichment partner post-migration. This is not data loss — it is a capability gap that requires a rebuild decision.

  • Breakcold's social selling feed data does not map to any HubSpot object

Breakcold's curated prospecting feed — which aggregates LinkedIn posts, Twitter activity, and social interactions from contacts — is a Breakcold-specific construct with no HubSpot equivalent. HubSpot engagement tracking logs activities on contacts and companies, but it does not recreate a social media feed view. We migrate contact records and their social profile URLs (LinkedIn, Twitter) as custom properties, enabling your team to use HubSpot's LinkedIn Sales Navigator integration or a third-party social selling tool for ongoing feed functionality. The curated feed itself must be rebuilt or replaced.

  • HubSpot lifecycle stages must be assigned post-migration for contacts without a lifecycle signal

Breakcold has no native lifecycle-stage field — contacts in Breakcold are either active or inactive with no progression model. HubSpot's lifecycle_stage property (subscriber, lead, MQL, SQL, customer, evangelist) requires a value on every contact for marketing automation and reporting to function correctly. We set a default lifecycle_stage of 'lead' for all migrated contacts. Your team should review and update lifecycle stages based on Breakcold activity data (last email sent, last meeting logged, deal stage reached) using HubSpot's bulk-edit tools or a workflow rule post-migration.

  • Breakcold deal pipelines map to HubSpot deal pipelines but stage probability requires manual reconfiguration

Breakcold stores deal stage name and order, but not probability percentages per stage. HubSpot deal stages include probability settings that drive forecasting. We map stage names and order 1:1 during migration, but stage probabilities must be configured in HubSpot's pipeline settings after data lands. Deals at each stage in Breakcold will migrate with their stage name intact, and your HubSpot admin should set the probability percentages that match your historical close rates before relying on HubSpot's forecast reports.

  • Breakcold multichannel inbox (LinkedIn DM, Twitter, WhatsApp, Telegram) maps to HubSpot conversations as engagement logs only

Breakcold's unified inbox aggregates LinkedIn direct messages, Twitter DMs, WhatsApp messages, and Telegram conversations on a contact or deal record. HubSpot Conversations (available in Service Hub) supports inbox functionality but requires a separate setup and does not automatically import conversation history from Breakcold. We migrate conversation metadata (timestamp, channel, contact link) as note engagements on the contact record, but the conversation content and thread context from Breakcold's inbox is not transferred. This requires a business decision on whether to preserve conversation history as reference notes or accept that ongoing conversations continue in HubSpot's native tool.

Migration approach

Six steps for a successful Breakcold to HubSpot data migration

  1. Map Breakcold data model to HubSpot schema and create custom properties

We analyze Breakcold's object and field structure and map it to HubSpot's contacts, companies, deals, and engagements. We identify custom fields in Breakcold and create matching custom properties in HubSpot before migration runs, including Breakcold-specific fields like linkedin_url, twitter_handle, and Breakcold_ID__c for traceability. If Breakcold uses custom pick-list values, we build the value-mapping table between Breakcold options and HubSpot pick-list options at this stage.

  2. Export contacts, companies, deals, and engagement history from Breakcold API

We pull all records from Breakcold's API in batched requests (respecting the 60 requests-per-60-second rate limit documented in Breakcold's developer docs). We capture create and update timestamps, owner assignments, and all custom field values. For engagement history, we export call logs, email logs, meeting logs, and notes linked to their parent contact or deal records. Social profile URLs (LinkedIn, Twitter) and enrichment token data are extracted as custom property values for mapping to HubSpot custom properties.

  3. Import into HubSpot with owner resolution and lifecycle stage default assignment

We map Breakcold contacts to HubSpot contacts, Breakcold companies to HubSpot companies, and Breakcold deals to HubSpot deals with pipeline and stage mapping. Owner resolution happens by email match against HubSpot users — unmatched owners are flagged before migration commits so your team can either create HubSpot user records or assign their records to a fallback owner. Lifecycle stages default to 'lead' on all contacts since Breakcold has no lifecycle signal. We link contacts to companies using the HubSpot company association model.

  4. Run sample migration with field-level diff across 100–500 representative records

We run a test migration against a representative slice of your Breakcold data — typically 100–500 records spanning contacts with different social profile types, companies with various industries, deals in multiple pipeline stages, and a sampling of engagement records. We generate a field-level diff report comparing source values from Breakcold to destination values in HubSpot. You review the diff to verify social URL mapping, lifecycle stage defaults, deal stage mapping, and owner resolution before the full migration runs.

  5. Execute full migration with 24–48 hour delta pickup and audit log

The full migration runs against your live HubSpot account using Breakcold's read API access. A delta-pickup window (typically 24–48 hours after initial extraction) captures any records created or modified in Breakcold during the cutover window. We generate a complete audit log of every record migrated, including source record ID, destination record ID, field mappings applied, and any warnings or skipped records. One-click rollback is available if reconciliation fails — FlitStack reverts the HubSpot changes and you can re-run after resolving the issue.

Breakcold

Source

Strengths

  • Unified multichannel inbox combining Email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and Telegram into a single threaded view
  • Flat-rate pricing model with unlimited contacts and pipelines regardless of seat count
  • AI-native automation that reduces manual CRM updates on active contacts
  • LinkedIn and Twitter social selling feeds for curated B2B prospect discovery
  • Unlimited custom Objects and custom Properties without per-field charges

Weaknesses

  • No published export endpoint forces manual re-entry of contact data when leaving
  • Thin reporting and analytics push ops teams into workarounds for pipeline insights
  • LinkedIn integration stability issues cause data sync gaps and require re-authentication
  • Free trial users report zero live chat support and incomplete help documentation
  • Scales poorly past 3-5 reps where reporting depth and integration breadth become critical

HubSpot

Destination

Strengths

  • Genuinely useful free CRM tier with no seat limit on contact records.
  • All-in-one sales engagement layer (sequences, email tracking, calling, dialer) embedded natively in the CRM, eliminating a separate integration.
  • Intuitive interface and fast onboarding for individual reps, per G2 and Capterra reviews.
  • Workflow automation triggers across contacts, deals, and tickets with a visual builder.
  • API coverage for all standard objects including custom objects at Enterprise tier.

Weaknesses

  • Pricing model is contact-based at the marketing layer — importing all records as marketing contacts can multiply the monthly bill by 4×.
  • Feature tier cliffs are frequent surprises: sequences, calling, advanced reporting, and quoting are all gated, often requiring plan upgrades mid-implementation.
  • Mandatory onboarding fees at Professional ($1,500) and Enterprise ($3,500) are not prominently disclosed on the pricing page.
  • API rate limits are restrictive for bulk migration — burst limits of 100-200 req/10sec and search endpoint limits of 4 req/sec require careful job queuing.
  • Custom objects, additional pipelines, and advanced forecasting are Enterprise-only, making cost projections difficult for growing teams.

Most Breakcold-to-HubSpot migrations complete in 2–4 weeks of planning and execution time for under 50,000 records. The longest step is mapping Breakcold's custom fields and social profile data to HubSpot custom properties. Larger setups with 500,000+ records, multiple pipelines, or extensive custom pick-list values extend to 5–8 weeks. HubSpot pipeline and stage configuration on the destination side also requires your admin's time before data lands.
