Why people choose ZippyApp

The signal that keeps ZippyApp on the shortlist. Sourced from G2, Capterra, and customer scoping calls.

One-time application: job seekers complete a single profile and apply to any participating employer without re-entering information, reducing friction in high-volume hourly hiring.

QR code job discovery: employers post a QR code in-store or on-job-site, allowing candidates to apply instantly from their phone without downloading an app.

Low starting price: at $25/user/month with a free tier mentioned, it is accessible for very small businesses hiring fewer than five hourly workers.

Streamlined employer view: hiring managers see all applicants in one inbox, compare candidates side-by-side, and receive push notifications on new submissions.

High satisfaction scores: the platform holds a 4.6/5 on Capterra with 96% of reviewers rating it above four stars, indicating reliable usability for its target use case.

Glitchy navigation in the review queue: a SoftwareAdvice reviewer reported accidentally archiving or misplacing applications while browsing, suggesting the UI does not clearly separate browse and action states.

Integration gap with payroll and HR systems: hidden setup fees are cited for connecting ZippyApp to existing payroll or HRIS platforms, making it impractical for businesses that need automated onboarding.

Tiny market share and sparse reviews: with fewer than twenty verified reviews on major platforms and less than one percent of the recruitment-software market, prospective customers have limited peer validation and the product may be under-resourced.

No clear path for high-volume hiring: the Enterprise tier activates only after hiring more than ten people annually, implying per-seat pricing can scale unexpectedly for growing SMBs.

Platform scorecard

Strengths, weaknesses, and where ZippyApp fits

Grades across six dimensions, plus a SWOT-style view of where the platform shines and where it falls short.

SWOT — strengths, weaknesses, and use-case fit

Strengths

QR-code application flow requires no mobile app download, lowering the barrier for hourly job seekers.Single shared employment application eliminates duplicate data entry across employers.Employer inbox aggregates all applicants with side-by-side comparison views.Strong Capterra satisfaction rating (4.6/5) among its small review base.Bronze/Silver/Gold pricing tier structure provides predictable per-seat costs for small teams.

Weaknesses

No documented public API limits automated export and forces manual or account-scope data pulls.Fewer than twenty verified reviews on major platforms indicates limited production use and community support.Hidden one-time setup fees for HR/payroll integrations add unmodelled cost.Market share below one percent means few third-party integrations, add-ons, or documented migration paths exist.Startup-sized team (four employees) and low annual revenue ($500K TTM) suggest product longevity risk.

Where it works

Small businesses with fewer than five hourly employees, particularly in retail, food service, and hospitality, where hiring volume is low and budget is constrained.Brick-and-mortar locations where employers can place QR codes on-site, enabling candidates to apply instantly from their phones without downloading an app.Single-location or micro-chain businesses with straightforward, linear hiring workflows and no need for automated onboarding or HRIS connectivity.Employer-of-choice brands in high-turnover industries where candidates already recognize the brand and actively seek out job postings.Teams with a dedicated hiring manager who can manually review and disposition applicants through the employer inbox without relying on automated workflows.

Where it struggles

Growing SMBs approaching ten or more annual hires, where the Bronze/Silver/Gold per-seat pricing model scales unexpectedly and the Enterprise tier pricing remains opaque.Businesses requiring integration with payroll providers, HRIS platforms, or time-tracking systems, where hidden one-time setup fees add unmodelled cost and manual workarounds are required.Organizations needing automated data exports or programmatic access to applicant records, since the platform has no documented public API and export options are limited to manual account pulls.Companies with structured, multi-stage hiring workflows that require candidate scoring, interview scheduling, or background-check automation beyond the basic application inbox.Businesses in regulated industries or geographies that require audit trails, compliance documentation, or data residency guarantees that the platform does not provide.

What gets migrated

ZippyApp object support

Object-by-object support for ZippyApp migrations. Per-pair details surface during scoping.

Job Seekers

Mapping required

Job Seeker records include name, contact details, resume, cover letter, and application history. We extract these as Contact objects and preserve the application timeline as an Activity log in the destination CRM.

Employers

Mapping required

Employer accounts store company profile, branding details, job postings, and hiring-team members. We map these to Account/Company records and tag each employer by industry vertical if present in the ZippyApp profile.

Positions

Mapping required

Positions are the open jobs tied to an employer account. Each Position has a title, description, location, and QR code. We map these to Job/Position objects in the destination ATS, preserving the QR metadata as a custom field.

Applications

Mapping required

Applications link a Job Seeker to a Position with a status field (submitted, reviewed, dispositioned). We preserve the full application lifecycle as a custom object in the destination system because most ATS platforms handle applications differently.

Resumes

Mapping required

Resume files are stored as attachments to Job Seeker records. We extract them as binary blobs and attach them to the corresponding Contact record in the destination, noting that PDF versus DOCX parsing quality varies.

Cover Letters

Mapping required

Cover letters are optional attachments per application. We attach them to the same custom Application object as resumes and flag any cover letter present so the destination recruiter knows it was included.

Hiring Notifications

Not in this platform

Push notifications and email alerts generated by ZippyApp during the hiring workflow are transient communication events and are not stored as persistent records, so we do not migrate them.

Custom Employer Branding Assets

Not in this platform

Logos, brand colors, and QR-code graphics tied to employer accounts are media assets that do not map cleanly to any standard ATS object, so we exclude them from migration scope.
