Overview

What this migration involves

Migrating from Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP WorkWise Edition to Infor Cloudsuite is a database-first migration. WorkWise has no publicly documented bulk export or REST API endpoint for any of its core objects, so extraction begins with a vendor-assisted data pull or direct on-premise SQL audit of tables such as IM_ItemMaster, WO_WorkOrder, OM_SalesOrder, and QM_QualityResults. We map unlimited location-bin hierarchies, ECN-effective BOM and Routing revisions, and multi-level Job Cost aggregates into Infor Cloudsuite Industrial (the discrete manufacturing CloudSuite) using Infor's REST API with batch chunking and rate-limit handling. Workflows, sequences, role-based WorkBench configurations, and native EDI setups do not migrate as code; we deliver a written inventory for the customer's Infor administrator to rebuild. Infor Cloudsuite runs multi-tenant on AWS with Infor OS as the integration and extensibility layer, so post-migration capacity planning and CRP recomputation are run inside the destination platform after data is committed.

Why teams make this switch

Two sides of the same decision

Leaving

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition logo

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

What's pushing teams away

  • Support response times frustrate users — a long-term customer reported average case resolution of 90+ days, with some cases open for three years or longer.
  • Patches and updates introduce regressions due to incomplete testing, forcing internal IT staff to troubleshoot and patch around vendor issues.
  • Customizations required for organization-wide deployment were described as heavy by a COO, with a 9-month implementation timeline before the system was fully operational.
  • Modification (MOD) charges are separate from the base license and ongoing upgrade fees, creating unpredictable annual cost overruns for heavily customized environments.
  • Printing and PDF output depend on third-party tools and lack native capabilities, forcing workaround setups that complicate daily operations.

Choosing

Infor CloudSuite Corporate logo

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

What's pulling them in

  • Infor CloudSuite is industry-specific out of the box — manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, and food & beverage editions ship with preconfigured workflows that reduce the need for extensive customization and accelerate time to value for operations-heavy organizations.
  • The platform's deep integration with Excel for financial reporting is frequently cited as a key productivity feature, allowing finance teams to pull data directly and make changes without leaving familiar tooling.
  • AWS-hosted multi-tenant deployment eliminates data center management for IT teams, and Infor OS provides a unified integration layer (ION) that connects the CloudSuite to third-party applications without point-to-point middleware.
  • Organizations with multi-site or multi-country operations choose Infor for its multicurrency, multilanguage, and local regulatory compliance capabilities across 175+ countries, which simplifies consolidation for global CFOs.
  • The two-tier ERP strategy positioning lets corporate headquarters run CloudSuite while subsidiaries run lighter instances, which appeals to complex organizational structures that want standardization without full replacement.

Object mapping

How Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition objects map to Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Each row shows how a Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition object lands in Infor CloudSuite Corporate, including any object-level transformations, lookup resolution, or schema-design dependencies.

Typical mapping — final map is confirmed during the sample migration step.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Customer

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Customer

1:1
Fully supported

WorkWise Customer records carrying contact details, accounts receivable balances, and backlog references map directly to Infor Cloudsuite Customer (Party + Account). We use the WorkWise IM_Customer.CustomerID as the dedupe key during import and preserve AR balance for reconciliation in the destination system. Customer accounts are committed before any related Sales Order import so that the parent-party lookup is satisfied at the moment of insert.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Vendor

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Supplier

1:1
Fully supported

WorkWise Vendor master records include purchasing terms, AP balances, and lead times used in MRP. We map IM_Vendor to Infor Supplier (Party + Account role = Supplier) and preserve the supply-side PO references. Any open purchase orders referencing these vendors require PO receipt reopening against the imported PO identifiers post-migration. Lead times are stored on the Supplier record for MRP consumption.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Item (Products and Materials)

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Item

1:1
Fully supported

WorkWise Items carry complex attributes: stocking policies, stocking UOM vs. purchasing UOM, cost layers, revision control, and ECN-effective date fields. We handle unit-of-measure conversions during transform and flag any ECN-effective items for BOM-specific revision handling. The ECN affectivity date fields (IM_ItemRevision.EffectiveDate) are evaluated at migration time to determine which revision is current; we migrate the active-effective revision into Infor's Item Revision structure. Stocking flags and Min/Max/Multiple parameters transfer to Infor's replenishment rules.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Sales Order

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Sales Order

1:1
Fully supported

WorkWise Sales Orders reference back to Customers and forward to Work Orders, with line-level pricing, promised dates, and status. Open orders transfer with current statuses; historical closed orders are migrated to an archive table or Infor reporting schema as agreed during scoping. We resolve the CustomerId lookup and flag any Sales Order lines that reference Work Orders not yet committed, sequencing those Work Order imports to precede the Sales Order delta.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Purchase Order

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Purchase Order

1:1
Fully supported

Open POs in WorkWise carry vendor commitments and expected receipt dates. We map WO_PurchaseOrder line items to Infor Purchase Order lines, but destination-side receipt records (receipt transactions, warehouse receiving) must be reopened against the imported PO identifiers post-migration. Closed and history POs are migrated as records only; their receipt history is flagged as reference data for Infor reporting.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Work Order (Production Order)

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Production Order

1:1
Fully supported

WorkWise Work Orders tie to BOMs, Routings, and Work Centers, tracking planned vs. actual cost and completion status. We transfer open Work Orders with their costing layers and BOM/Routing references resolved at migration time. Any downstream closed records that were not fully costed are flagged for manual Infor-side reconciliation. Work Order status is mapped from WorkWise's WO_Status codes to Infor's Production Order lifecycle states (Released, In Process, Completed, Closed).

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Bill of Materials

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Bill of Materials

1:many
Fully supported

Multi-level BOMs with revision control and ECN affectivity dates must be exploded and validated in Infor before parent-component relationships are committed. Parent-component relationships require careful sequencing to avoid orphan components: we first migrate all Item records (the component universe), then BOM headers, then BOM lines in order of BOM depth level. We evaluate ECN affectivity dates at migration time and load the current-effective revision as the Infor BOM Revision unless the customer specifies full revision history migration.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Routing

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Routing

1:1
Fully supported

WorkWise Routings define the sequence of operations, work centers, and standard times used in scheduling. We map routing operations to Infor Routing Operations with work center references resolved against the Work Center master data (committed before routing load). Standard time and queue/burst times transfer to Infor's operation duration fields. Destination-specific scheduling logic (finite vs. infinite capacity scheduling) is configured in Infor OS after migration.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Work Center

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Work Center

1:1
Fully supported

WorkWise Work Centers carry capacity, calendars, and cost rates used in CRP calculations. We transfer Work Center definitions and their calendar schedules to Infor Work Center with capacity-per-hour and efficiency factors. CRP capacity recomputation must be triggered in Infor CloudSuite Industrial post-migration to reflect the migrated production load against the imported calendar and capacity data.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Inventory (Locations and Bins)

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Inventory (Locations and Bins)

1:1
Fully supported

WorkWise supports unlimited locations and bins. We preserve the full location-bin hierarchy and on-hand quantities, including any negative-on-hand or consignment flags, and recalculate available-to-promise in Infor after commit. Location structures are mapped to Infor's warehouse-location hierarchy, and any bin-level lot/serial traceability is preserved on the inventory transaction records.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Job Cost records

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Job Cost ledger

1:1
Mapping required

WorkWise Job Cost tracks planned vs. actual at Employee, Work Center, Department, Labor/Operation, and Component Material levels. Multi-level Work Orders aggregate cost across the full tree. We transfer the cost ledger entries with their Work Order and Work Center references. Destination-side job cost reports will reflect the moment-in-time migrated values, not live recalculations; we flag this for the customer's Infor administrator and advise running a cost rollup in Infor post-migration to reconcile against source totals.

Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition

Quality Records

maps to

Infor CloudSuite Corporate

Quality Records

1:1
Mapping required

Quality management in WorkWise stores inspection results, compliance alerts, and traceability links to lots and Work Orders. We map inspection records and preserve the traceability chain to Infor Quality Management. Destination-specific quality workflows, alert routing rules, and compliance templates require Infor-side configuration post-migration; we deliver a quality-object inventory document during handoff.

Pair-specific challenges

  • WorkWise has no public REST API — extraction requires database access

WorkWise has no publicly documented bulk export or REST API endpoint for any core object. All migration scoping begins with a vendor-assisted data pull (cloud deployments) or a direct SQL audit (on-premise) of tables including IM_ItemMaster, WO_WorkOrder, OM_SalesOrder, and QM_QualityResults. We construct export queries that respect ECN-effective date filters and evaluate the affectivity logic before any load design begins. This step is non-negotiable and precedes all schema and mapping work. Customers on cloud WorkWise should coordinate an Aptean-assisted data export at least four weeks before the migration engagement begins.

  • BOM and Routing ECN affectivity must be resolved before Infor load

WorkWise uses ECN affectivity dates to control when BOM and Routing revisions go live — a single Item can have multiple BOM revisions effective at different dates. Infor Cloudsuite Industrial uses a structural revision model with lifecycle states that differs from WorkWise's date-based affectivity. Before any BOM or Routing load, we determine whether to migrate the current-effective revision only (recommended for most cutover migrations) or preserve the full revision history with ECN dates translated to Infor revision effective dates. Skipping this decision results in Infor loading the oldest or most-recent revision by default, which may not match production reality.

  • MOD customizations in WorkWise require explicit destination mapping

WorkWise customers frequently add custom fields or modules (MODs) that extend beyond the base table schema. These modifications are charged as separate line items and may not be documented in the standard Aptean data dictionary. We flag any non-standard columns discovered in the database audit and determine whether each custom field has a clear Infor destination (LDV extension, custom field, or mapping to an existing Infor field) or must be archived. Unmapped MODs are delivered as a CSV archive with a data dictionary for the customer to manually re-enter in Infor OS.

  • EDI transaction mappings require redesign in Infor

WorkWise EDI Connector supports inbound 830 (Production Schedule), 850 (Purchase Orders) and outbound 856 (ASN), 810 (Invoices), and non-integrated 855 (PO Acknowledgements). Infor Cloudsuite does not include native EDI at base tier; EDI runs through Infor B2B/EDI or ION integration which requires separate licensing and configuration. We do not migrate EDI transaction maps as code. We document every active EDI partnership, transaction set, and data element mapping from WorkWise for the customer's Infor EDI team or integration partner to rebuild in the Infor ecosystem.

  • Job Cost aggregates need post-migration reconciliation

WorkWise Job Cost tracks planned vs. actual at multiple aggregation levels across multi-level Work Orders. The cost values we migrate are the moment-in-time ledger totals at the time of extraction. Infor CloudSuite Industrial will recompute actual costs based on posted production transactions (labor posting, material issue, overhead application) after cutover, which may diverge from the migrated totals. We flag this during discovery and recommend that the customer's Infor administrator run a cost variance report within the first full production period to identify and resolve any discrepancies between migrated planned cost and Infor-posted actuals.

Migration approach

Six steps for a successful Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP, WorkWise Edition to Infor CloudSuite Corporate data migration

  1. Database audit and extraction scoping

For on-premise WorkWise deployments, we run a structured SQL audit against the production database, identifying all relevant tables (IM_ItemMaster, IM_ItemRevision, WO_WorkOrder, OM_SalesOrder, PO_PurchaseOrder, BM_BillOfMaterials, RT_Routing, WC_WorkCenter, JC_JobCost, QM_QualityResults, IM_Location, IM_Bin, EM_Employee, GL_Account, AP_Vendor, AR_Customer) and their MOD extensions. For cloud deployments, we coordinate with Aptean for a vendor-assisted data export. We evaluate ECN-effective date fields on BOM and Routing tables to determine revision scope and produce a written extraction specification before any load design begins. This audit output drives the object mapping document in Step 2.

  2. Schema design and BOM/ECN sequencing decision

We design the Infor Cloudsuite schema: Item master with revision control, Work Center definitions, Routing operations, Production Order structures, Customer and Supplier Party records, and the Job Cost ledger. We make an explicit ECN affectivity decision during this step: current-effective revision only, or full revision history with date mapping to Infor revision lifecycle states. We also inventory MOD custom fields and map each to an Infor LDV extension, standard Infor field, or archival CSV. The schema design document is reviewed and signed off by the customer's Infor administrator before any Infor-side build begins.

  3. Sandbox migration and reconciliation

We run a full migration into an Infor Cloudsuite staging environment using production-like data volume. The customer reconciles record counts (Items in, Work Orders in, BOM lines in, Inventory balances in), spot-checks 25-50 random records against the WorkWise source (pricing, on-hand quantities, BOM explosion at a given revision date), and validates that ECN-effective BOMs resolved to the correct Infor revision. BOM explosion sequencing is validated by comparing the WorkWise exploded component list against the Infor BOM load output. Schema and mapping corrections happen here, not in production.

  4. Master data migration

We commit master data in dependency order: GL Accounts (referenced by Job Cost and Work Centers), Employees (referenced by Work Centers and Job Cost), Work Centers (referenced by Routings and Work Orders), Locations and Bins (referenced by Inventory), Items with current-effective revisions (referenced by BOMs, Sales Orders, Work Orders), BOMs (exploded and validated in sequence), and Routings (with work center references resolved). Each phase emits a row-count reconciliation report before the next phase begins. ECN-effective items are evaluated at this step against the effective date to ensure the correct revision loads.

  5. Transactional data migration

We migrate open Sales Orders (with CustomerId and line-level references resolved), open Purchase Orders (with SupplierId resolved), open Work Orders (with BOM Revision, Routing, Work Center, and cost layers resolved), and Job Cost ledger entries (with Work Order, Work Center, and Department references resolved). Quality Records are migrated with traceability links to Lot and Work Order. Each transaction type is committed in a separate phase with validation queries run against Infor post-commit to confirm record counts and key field integrity.

  6. Cutover, delta migration, and handoff

We freeze WorkWise writes during cutover, run a final delta migration of any records modified during the migration window, then enable Infor Cloudsuite as the system of record. We deliver the MOD custom field inventory, EDI partnership documentation, and Workflow/automation inventory documents to the customer's Infor administrator. We support a one-week hypercare window where we resolve any reconciliation issues. We do not rebuild WorkWise WorkBench configurations, EDI maps, or MRP exception rules as Infor automations; those are separate Infor implementation partner engagements.
