In its favor

Why people choose hireful

The signal that keeps hireful on the shortlist. Sourced from G2, Capterra, and customer scoping calls.

UK job board integrations with TotalJobs, Reed, and CV Library are native to the platform, so teams already posting to those boards avoid duplicating listings when switching to hireful.

Charities and non-profits get a dedicated NFP tier with free volunteer management included, making it one of the few ATS options purpose-built for the UK charity sector.

EDI features are bundled at no extra cost across all plans, which attracts organisations with active D&I commitments who would otherwise pay for these tools separately.

Small HR teams and standalone HR professionals report the platform's pre-set recruitment workflows reduce the need for internal configuration before first use.

Customers cite responsive account management and customer success support as a reason they stay with hireful rather than switching to larger, less personalised platforms.

Reviewers note the platform lacks a geographic talent-pooling tool, meaning teams cannot easily segment and re-engage candidates by location without manual workarounds.

As hireful is optimised for the UK market, international organisations with multi-country hiring needs find the feature set insufficient compared to global ATS platforms.

Some users report that the ATS feels less suited to high-volume recruitment operations, with workflows that can become cumbersome as vacancy and candidate counts grow.

Platform scorecard

Strengths, weaknesses, and where hireful fits

Grades across six dimensions, plus a SWOT-style view of where the platform shines and where it falls short.

SWOT — strengths, weaknesses, and use-case fit

Strengths

EDI and D&I tools are bundled on all plans at no extra charge, including anonymised applications and diversity benchmarking.UK-specific job board integrations with TotalJobs, Reed, CV Library, and Indeed are natively supported without third-party plugins.Pricing is straightforward with flat annual rates and unlimited hiring manager seats on all tiers.GDPR automation handles candidate data deletion based on configurable retention periods and supports subject access request responses.A dedicated volunteer management system is included free on charity and NFP tiers.

Weaknesses

No public REST API is documented, meaning bulk exports rely on CSV downloads which limits the depth of data we can migrate.International or multi-country hiring features are limited compared to global ATS platforms. The platform is optimised for small to mid-sized organisations and may not scale well for high-volume enterprise recruitment.

Where it works

UK-based small businesses with fewer than 200 employees that post primarily to TotalJobs, Reed, or CV Library and need native job board publishing without third-party plugins.UK charities and non-profit organisations requiring a dedicated NFP pricing tier, free volunteer management, and EDI tools bundled at no extra cost across all plans.Small HR teams or standalone HR professionals who lack dedicated IT support and benefit from pre-set recruitment workflows that require minimal initial configuration.Organisations operating under UK GDPR who need automated candidate data deletion based on configurable retention periods and built-in subject access request handling.Companies with active equality, diversity, and inclusion commitments seeking anonymised applications, disability-confident highlighting, and diversity benchmarking at no additional charge.

Where it struggles

Organisations with multi-country or international hiring operations, as hireful is optimised for the UK market with no documented multi-country feature set.High-volume recruitment environments where hundreds of vacancies and thousands of candidate records accumulate, causing workflows to become cumbersome over time.Teams requiring geographic talent-pooling functionality, as the platform lacks tools to segment and re-engage candidates by location without manual workarounds.Organisations with complex integration requirements that depend on a public REST API, since hireful has no documented API and relies solely on CSV exports for data extraction.

What gets migrated

hireful object support

Object-by-object support for hireful migrations. Per-pair details surface during scoping.

Vacancies

Fully supported

Vacancies are the primary object in hireful. We export vacancy records including title, description, status, and pipeline stage via CSV. The destination system's Jobs or Positions object maps directly. Pipeline stage ordering is preserved as a custom property in the destination.

Candidates

Fully supported

Candidate profiles include contact details, work history, CV/resume, and communication history. We extract the full candidate record from hireful's export and map it to the destination's Contacts or Candidates object. GDPR deletion flags are carried as a metadata field in the migration package.

Applications

Fully supported

Each candidate-to-vacancy pairing is an Application record. We map Applications 1:1 between systems and preserve the application status (e.g., Applied, Shortlisted, Rejected) as a standard field in the destination ATS.

Application Forms

Mapping required

Custom application forms with bespoke field sets are supported at the Pro tier and above. We export form definitions and candidate responses separately, then reconstruct form field mappings in the destination system, noting any conditional logic that cannot be replicated.

Hiring Manager Portals

Mapping required

Hiring managers interact with the ATS through a dedicated portal on the Go tier. We migrate portal user assignments as Owner or Assignee records in the destination ATS, noting that the portal interface itself does not transfer.

Interview Schedules

Mapping required

Interview scheduling is available on the Grow and Pro tiers. Where interviews are recorded as structured events, we map them to Activities or Events in the destination. Self-service interview scheduling data requires field-level mapping.

Scoring and Evaluation Notes

Mapping required

Recruiter scoring and evaluation notes are stored against Application records. We export these as structured score data and map them to the destination ATS's rating or evaluation fields. Free-text notes are migrated as comments or activity history.

Job Board Postings

Mapping required

Job board integrations (Indeed Easy Apply, TotalJobs, Reed, CV Library) are configured in hireful. We record which boards each vacancy was posted to as a metadata field in the migration log, but posting configuration must be rebuilt in the destination ATS.

Attachments (CVs, Documents)

Mapping required

CVs and uploaded documents are available as attachments to candidate profiles. We extract files via hireful's download interface and re-upload them to the destination ATS against the corresponding candidate record. Binary attachments require separate handling in the migration package.

User Licences

Mapping required

Recruiter licences and unlimited hiring manager seats are tier-specific. We map active user assignments as Owner or Assignee records. Additional licence counts are noted in the scoping document for billing comparison with the destination platform.
