In its favor

Why people choose Talexio

The signal that keeps Talexio on the shortlist. Sourced from G2, Capterra, and customer scoping calls.

Customers choose Talexio for Malta-local payroll compliance and EU statutory reporting built directly into the platform rather than bolted on.

The modular structure lets teams start with recruitment or onboarding and add payroll or time tracking without migrating to a new system.

The ATS and HR core share a single employee profile, reducing duplicate data entry across recruitment and employee lifecycle stages.

Talexio's Graph API is available to all customers at no additional charge, enabling custom integrations without a separate developer tier.

Customers report the interface is customisable and avoids overwhelming users with features they do not need, particularly for smaller HR teams.

Teams outgrow Talexio when they expand into jurisdictions where Talexio has not yet built localised payroll support, particularly non-EU markets.

The platform's public-facing candidate portal UI is considered dated compared to modern ATS platforms used by larger recruiting teams.

Integration options beyond Zapier require direct API access and custom development work, which smaller HR teams lack resources to maintain.

Platform scorecard

Strengths, weaknesses, and where Talexio fits

Grades across six dimensions, plus a SWOT-style view of where the platform shines and where it falls short.

SWOT — strengths, weaknesses, and use-case fit

Strengths

Payroll, ATS, onboarding, and time tracking in one integrated platform reduces data silos between HR modules.Malta and EU statutory reporting is built-in, not an add-on, which is a primary reason regional customers adopt Talexio.Graph API access is free to all customers, enabling custom integrations without a paid developer programme.Onboarding Assistant supports bulk employee upload, which accelerates initial data population.Single employee profile reduces duplicate records across recruitment and core HR.

Weaknesses

Public-facing candidate portal UI is considered dated compared to modern ATS platforms, which can affect employer brand perception.Non-EU market support is limited; Talexio has not yet built localised payroll modules for markets outside the EU.Rate limits are not publicly documented, making bulk API extraction unpredictable without exploratory testing.Reporting schema is not self-service—customers must request the flattened database schema via a support ticket.

Where it works

Malta and EU-based organisations requiring statutory payroll compliance built directly into their HR system rather than an add-on.Small to mid-sized HR teams who benefit from a customisable interface that avoids presenting unnecessary features.Companies wanting to start with a single module (recruitment or onboarding) and expand into payroll or time tracking within the same platform.EU-based recruitment teams needing a shared employee profile between their ATS and core HR modules to avoid duplicate data entry.Organisations using Shireburn Indigo as a legacy payroll system who can use Talexio's built-in migration tooling.

Where it struggles

Companies expanding into non-EU jurisdictions where Talexio has not yet built localised payroll modules, particularly UK, US, and Asian markets.Organisations requiring self-service access to a flattened reporting database schema, which Talexio only provides via a support ticket request.Recruitment teams with high-volume hiring needs who require a modern, branded candidate portal to maintain employer brand perception.Smaller HR teams that lack in-house development resources to maintain custom API integrations beyond Zapier's limited trigger and action set.Companies with complex multi-currency or multi-country payroll requirements that fall outside Malta and EU statutory frameworks.

Talexio pricing overview

Talexio publishes pricing only on request. The platform is modular—customers select products and add-ons rather than purchasing a single tier. Since the API is available to all users at no additional charge, even lower-tier customers have migration access via the Graph API.

What gets migrated

Talexio object support

Object-by-object support for Talexio migrations. Per-pair details surface during scoping.

Employees (People profiles)

Fully supported

Employee profiles are the core record in Talexio, displayed in the People section. Each profile can hold contact details, employment history, and permissions. We migrate profile fields 1:1 and preserve the profile's unique ID for cross-referencing with related objects like Employment Positions and leave records.

Employment Positions

Fully supported

Talexio links an employee to one profile; role changes and salary adjustments are recorded as new Employment Position entries against that profile. We preserve the position history and effective dates, mapping each position to the destination system's job-title or compensation record.

Time & Attendance clockings

Fully supported

Clockings sync automatically from physical devices to Talexio's software. We export these as time log records with employee reference, date, and clock-in/out timestamps. The reporting database schema for time data is available on request from Talexio support.

Leave Management records

Fully supported

Approved leave booked in Talexio is migratable. We extract leave type, balance used, approval status, and effective dates. Leave entitlements are stored per-employee and must be reconciled separately from usage records.

Recruitment / Candidate records

Mapping required

Talexio operates as an ATS. Candidate profiles, applications, and pipeline stages exist in the system. We map these to the destination ATS objects, but pipeline stage names and custom recruiter fields vary by customer configuration and may require field-level mapping.

Onboarding packages

Mapping required

The Onboarding Assistant supports bulk employee upload. Onboarding document packages and step completion status are migratable but the document attachments themselves may need to be exported separately via Talexio's file store or USB export.

Offboarding records

Mapping required

Offboarding data including exit checklists and document sign-offs are tied to the employee profile. We extract the record and associate it with the employee's final Employment Position. Whether the destination system supports offboarding workflows determines whether this lands as structured data or a note.

Documents

Mapping required

Talexio stores documents against employee profiles and recruitment records. Documents can be exported via the reporting database or directly from the UI. We flag which documents are attached to which object to ensure they land in the correct destination record.

Training / Skills records

Mapping required

Training modules and skill tracking exist as employee profile fields. These are not a separate object in Talexio and are migrated as custom profile fields. Mapping to a dedicated LMS requires field-level alignment.

Custom Fields

Mapping required

Custom fields can be created on employee profiles and require specific permissions to view or manage. We enumerate all custom fields during discovery and map each to the corresponding destination field, flagging any with conditional logic that may not transfer cleanly.

Departments and Cost Centres

Fully supported

Organisational structure including departments and cost centres is supported as standard configuration data in Talexio. We export these as reference data and recreate them in the destination before importing employee records.
