The primary record type in Fingercheck, bundling personal data (name, address, SSN, DOB, gender), employment metadata (HireDate, PayType, ExemptFromOT, FullOrPartTime), supervisor linkage, and clock credentials (ClockNumber, ClockStatus). We export the full Employee object via the v1 API and map it field-for-field to the destination HRMS. SSN and DOB are flagged as sensitive and are typically redacted or re-entered by the customer at the destination.

Divisions

Mapping required

Divisions represent organizational units in Fingercheck and map to the DivisionID on the Employee record. We preserve Division assignments during migration, but the destination may call this entity 'Locations', 'Departments', or 'Business Units'. We map Division names to the equivalent destination entity and flag any Division-specific pay rules.

Pay Groups

Mapping required

PayGroup determines how an employee is paid (e.g., salaried vs. hourly) and drives payroll tax calculation logic. We preserve the PayGroup assignment on each Employee record. Where the destination does not have a PayGroup concept, we map PayGroup values to equivalent pay frequency and pay type fields.

Cost Centers (1–5)

Mapping required

Fingercheck supports up to 5 Cost Center fields per employee for labor allocation and job costing. These are free-text or structured depending on customer setup. We export all 5 CostCenter fields and map them to the destination's cost allocation fields, flagging any that require re-activation as job-costing dimensions.

Custom Fields

Mapping required

Fingercheck allows Custom Fields for HR data and hiring via SETUP > HR > Custom Fields. These are customer-defined in name, type, and required status. We export all custom field definitions and values, then map them to destination custom fields by matching label and data type. Customers must confirm field naming conventions before import.

Time Cards

Fully supported

Time Card records in Fingercheck capture punch-in/out timestamps, breaks, overtime flags, and job costing associations per pay period. We export Time Cards by date range aligned to pay period boundaries so accruals, overtime calculations, and PTO usage carry forward accurately. Time Cards are tightly coupled to the Employee object and the pay schedule.

Scheduling

Mapping required

Fingercheck's scheduling module handles shift assignments, conflict detection, and shift notes for both office and field workers. Schedule records include employee assignment, date/time, and notes. Shift notes up to a certain length were a known bug (fixed on iOS/Android), and we flag any truncated notes discovered during export.

HR Documents

Mapping required

HR Documents in Fingercheck include employee files, certifications, I-9s, policy acknowledgements, and onboarding paperwork stored per employee. Documents are managed via SETUP > HR > Documents. We export document metadata and links; actual file binary export depends on whether Fingercheck exposes a download endpoint, which we validate during scoping.

Tax Tables

Fingercheck stores state and federal tax withholding tables per employee, including state-specific tax table data. A documented bug (Connecticut) caused tax table saves to fail during onboarding, returning null values and blocking employee activation. We export current tax elections per employee and flag any records with failed saves for manual review before migration.

Payroll Exports

Fingercheck integrates with QuickBooks Online for payroll journal exports. Export configurations (Code, Description, Company ID, Export Type) are per-customer settings.
